Cinema, like more than a hundred years ago, remains an important art form for a significant number of viewers. Childhood love

For several decades, mainly Russian films were shown on screens in the Soviet Union. Pictures of foreign production were also shown, but after the approval of the censorship and the art council. Our people were crying while watching Indian tapes. Charlie Chaplin's antics were laughed at. Such films as "Chapaev" or "The Fate of a Man" were watched by the entire Soviet country. When people gathered at the festive table, they had something to talk about. It was in such a family that Ekaterina Mtsituridze grew up and was brought up. The girl was born on January 10, 1972 in Tbilisi.

An ordinary family for those times. Father is a geologist, mother worked in a pharmacy. The child was loved and tried to educate correctly. The biography of Catherine says that she was named after the famous actress Catherine Deneuve. The fact is that the parents loved and appreciated quality movies. It is fair to say that they had a taste and a sense of proportion. From an early age, Katya absorbed this atmosphere and already in early childhood knew many artists from photographs, and could retell the plots of the films she watched. With age, the horizon of interests expanded. Young Mtsituridze began to take an interest in technical features and creative concepts in cinema.

At school, Ekaterina studied well. After the tenth grade, I decided to pursue higher education at a local university. It is important to note here that the girl studied simultaneously at two faculties - history and film studies. Relatives and acquaintances note that already in adolescence, the girl disclosed information about a particular film at the level of a professional critic. The children opened their mouths in surprise, and the adults were sincerely surprised at the mature judgments that were not age. Already in the second year of the university, Georgian TV people drew attention to the erudite student.

The first publication of Ekaterina Mtsituridze appeared on the pages of the Cinema magazine in 1991. It can be said with good reason that the professional career of the future chairman of Roskino began at this time. The young, ambitious and energetic journalist managed to prepare publications for both the magazine and the newspaper Novinki Ekran, and run a news program on television. In 1994 she completed her studies at the university and received two diplomas - historian and film critic. In the process of preparing her thesis on history, I managed to decently learn two foreign languages - Italian and English.

Moscow saga

As a certified specialist, Mtsituridze soberly weighed her qualifications and possible areas of professional activity. Of course, one could go overseas, to the famous Hollywood. Or to Italy, where they already had business acquaintances. Ekaterina chose the best option - she went to Moscow. It was 1994. The Russian capital was undergoing drastic changes. People with different levels of professional training and general erudition aspired to work on television. The "Caucasian guest" had to go through the usual casting and demonstrate her competence.

During the year, Ekaterina worked at the most labor-intensive section of the technological process. She was accepted as an ordinary editor in the Teleutro program. I had to work like a draft horse. For all the time at his "post" not a single blot or hitch happened. The moment came, and in the fall of 1996, Mtsituridze began to lead her favorite column "This is a movie" in the "Good morning" program. Communicating in a professional environment, the presenter secures the qualifications of a competent analyst and expert. Five years later, she was invited to the jury of the Moscow International Film Festival.

To evaluate the creativity of an outsider, specialist or layman, a jury member must take an outside and impartial position. At the same time, an appropriate level of competence is required from the observing and evaluating subject. It is not at all surprising that after a short period of time Ekaterina Mtsituridze was invited to the jury of the Kansk Film Festival. This is already an international level. Behind such a representative is all the power of the state machine and the trust of the creative intelligentsia. This is a serious burden and responsibility.

Administrative position

Today we can say with good reason that Ekaterina Mtsituridze made a significant contribution to the support and development of Russian cinema. As part of her duties as a TV presenter, she opens the Premiere with Viewers talk show. A broadcast of this kind brought directors and actors together with the audience on the same site. The exchange of opinions never goes unnoticed. Then Mtsituridze becomes the founder and director of the Russian representative office in Cannes, at the traditional film festival.

Finally, in 2011, Ekaterina Mtsituridze was appointed general director of OJSC Roskino. This structure was created on the basis of the Soviet enterprise Sovexportfilm. In fact, this appointment was a landmark event. First, Ms. Mtsitsridze was recognized as an international-class manager. Secondly, the time has come to bring the products of Russian directors to the international market. The task is very, very difficult.

Naturally, both film and television viewers are interested in Catherine's personal life. A large-scale discussion of this topic will not work. In her early youth, Mtsituridze was married. The husband and wife lived under the same roof for a couple of months. It was not possible to find other data in open sources.
