Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Elena Viktorovna Chistyakova has published over 150 scientific works on the history of Russian society during her long creative life. It trained a whole galaxy of talented scientists who made the pride of Soviet and Russian historical science.

Biography

The birthplace of the famous historian Chistyakova Elena Viktorovna is the Moscow province. The future researcher of Russian history was born in 1921 on November 16 in the city of Podolsk. Elena Viktorovna's parents came from old families of clergymen of the Russian Orthodox Church, who had parishes in the Kaluga and Moscow provinces. The girl received her secondary education in Moscow. She graduated from her favorite school number 64 in 1939. To obtain a profession, Moscow State University was chosen as a graduate. Elena dreamed of becoming a historian, and she passed all the entrance exams of the Faculty of History. Although the years of study coincided with the tragic events of the Second World War, the students of the history department were lucky with their teachers. Thanks to the lectures and seminars of S. D. Skazkin, M. N. Tikhomirov, M. V. Nechkina, N. L. Rubinstein, the future historian received an excellent higher education. While studying within the walls of Moscow University, Elena Viktorovna's personal life took place. She met and found a life partner - V. A. Dunaevsky. Her beloved husband was her soul mate.

Elena Chistyakova's diploma work showed that she was a real scientist with an analytical mind, who knows how to scrupulously investigate scarce historical data. The head of the student work about Prince Vladimir Andreevich Brave was the famous professor M. N. Tikhomirov.

Career and creativity

Chistyakova's diploma defense was so strong that the talented girl was offered to stay in graduate school. She chose this path and began to collect material for her Ph. D. thesis. She was interested in the class struggle and the rise of civil society. The topic of the dissertation was related to the reforms of 1665, which were carried out in Pskov by A. L. Ordin-Nashchokin. The research work was supervised by the renowned M. N. Tikhomirov.

Elena Viktorovna received the title of candidate of historical sciences in 1947. Voronezh State University became the place of work of the young scientist and teacher. The subject that E. V. Chistyakova taught to students was the history of the Soviet Union. She lectured on source studies and historiography. The historian spent a lot of time in the archives of the Voronezh region.

She continued her historical research and collected material for her doctoral dissertation. The return to the capital took place in 1952. She entered the position of a teacher at the Institute of History and Archives. Elena Viktorovna defended her doctoral degree in 1966. Based on the data of her work, in 1975 the Voronezh Publishing House published a famous monograph on Russian popular movements in the 17th century. E. V. Chistyakova went through the entire career ladder and was awarded a professorship in 1968.

Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences possessed deep knowledge. The subject of her research was historical figures who influenced the consciousness of the masses - Stepan Razin, Vasily Us, Ivan Timofeevich Razin, ataman Alena Arzamasskaya.

Contribution to education

In the seventies, many scientific works of the historian were published, in which she describes the historical facts that took place in the Russian state of the era of feudalism. Chistyakova teaches special courses on Russian culture at the Faculty of History of the Peoples' Friendship University in Moscow. She has trained over 20 candidates of historical sciences and 4 scholars have received their doctorates thanks to her support.

The renowned Soviet history scholar retired in 1998, but continued to work. She compiled a catalog of the scientific heritage of her beloved husband, who was also a historian and left behind scientific works and articles.

Elena Viktorovna Chistyakova died in 2005. The ashes of the great woman rests in the cemetery in Kuzminki.
