Childhood and youth

In the Soviet school, children were not only taught to read, but also raised. Literature lessons were one of the effective methods of education. Many students not only read books, but also tried to write their own works. Albert Anatolyevich Likhanov was born on September 13, 1935 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in the ancient Russian city of Kirov, which until 1934 was called Vyatka. My father worked as a mechanic at one of the timber processing enterprises. Mother is a laboratory assistant at a local clinic.

The boy grew up smart and energetic. In modern terms, he was considered the informal leader of the peer community on the street. Albert learned to read early and told his friends fairy tales and fables, which he read in books. The future writer studied well at school. His favorite subjects were Russian language and literature. During the war, he wrote pompous poems in which he predicted a quick victory over the enemy. In high school, Likhanov began writing articles for a local newspaper. Close communication with journalists and proofreaders had a decisive influence on the choice of profession.

After school, Albert left for Sverdlovsk to get a specialized education. There, without much stress, he entered the journalism department of the Ural State University. Student years flew by like an instant. At this time, student Likhanov, as part of a construction detachment, worked on the construction of national economic facilities. I made acquaintances with colleagues from other educational institutions. Observed real events and conflicts that happened in the area of his attention. He wrote down interesting stories and incidents.

In 1958, the certified journalist returned to his "native shores" and became a staff member of the newspaper "Kirovskaya Pravda". The publications of the young journalist are distinguished by strict consistency and clearly expressed thought. Likhanov not only acquaints the reader with a specific situation, but also offers specific solutions or a line of behavior. Two years later, he was transferred to the post of editor-in-chief of the regional youth newspaper Komsomolskoye Pribya. Creativity and becoming

The first story titled "Shagreen Skin" appeared on the pages of the magazine "Youth" in 1962. The beginning author was noted and invited to the All-Union Conference of Young Writers. Likhanov got to the seminar of the famous children's writer Lev Kassil. This event left a deep mark in the memory for many years. After the seminar, Likhanov worked for two years as Komsomolskaya Pravda's own correspondent for the Novosibirsk region. During this time, the writer's notebooks were filled with a huge amount of information.

In 1967, Likhanov's two books "Labyrinth" and "Deception" were published. And at the same time he was invited to Moscow for a responsible job in the editorial office of the Smena magazine. The harsh conditions and high demands did not frighten the already experienced journalist. Since the magazine covered all aspects of the life of the younger generation, Likhanov had to plunge into these topics, as they say, headlong. In fact, it turned out that serious conflicts and shortcomings were hidden behind the brilliant facade of "happy childhood". It was unacceptable to talk about it out loud.

Working as editor-in-chief, Albert Anatolyevich Likhanov made sure that the youth magazine "Smena" began to be read by people of all ages and professions. On the pages of the publication, the problems of raising children, attitudes towards the older generation were raised, discussions were held on morality and moral duty. Likhanov not only writes books about children and adults, but deals with specific cases to change the situation. In 1985, he wrote to the Government of the Soviet Union with a request to take concrete measures.

Social activity

After the appeal of the writer, the Government adopted a decree on helping orphans. A couple of years later, in 1987, the Soviet Children's Fund was created in the country. In a nutshell, it is impossible to convey and talk about the obstacles and traps that had to be overcome along the way. In order to effectively solve problems of this scale, Likhanov was elected People's Deputy of the USSR. He made colossal efforts to get the Soviet Union to join the World Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The contribution of the writer to the creation of a child protection system can hardly be overestimated. When the collapse of the Soviet State took place, Likhanov did not give up and continued his activities. Today all the institutions created on his initiative function in modern Russia. Among them are the Research Institute of Childhood, the Children's Rehabilitation Center, a book publishing house and other structures.
