Step 1
If you find somewhere your work or part of it without mentioning you as its author, this means that someone has used your creation for their own purposes. If this happened without your knowledge and consent, feel free to go to court. Step 2
In order to prove your right to a work in the event of theft, send it to yourself by registered mail and, having received it, keep it without printing it. The letter will indicate the date of sending, and you can easily prove your right to authorship.
Step 3
The following method is also suitable for protecting your rights. Publish your work or an excerpt from it in any periodical, even a little-known one. In this case, it will be assigned its own unique number - ISBN (International Standard Book Number), which will serve as proof of your authorship.
Step 4
Another way to protect copyright is to send the work to the St. Petersburg Center for Contemporary Literature and Books. TsSLiK accepts manuscripts from authors and transfers them to its library for storage. All writers and poets should take note of this method. When transferring your work for storage, do not forget about drawing up an agreement with the Center on the acceptance of the manuscript for storage. Keep one copy for yourself. In case of violation of your copyright, you will only need to contact the Center.
Step 5
You can also protect your work from plagiarism if you register it for participation in any well-known literary competition. You will not only get a chance to win a prize, but you will also remain in the history of the competition, which will be proof of your authorship. It should be borne in mind that you should not send your work to participate in little-known competitions, or, even more so, send it to addresses that do not call you trust.
