From August 29 to September 8, the 69th Venice Film Festival will take place, according to the results of which the director of the best film will receive a statuette of the Golden Lion. In 2012, it is planned to introduce new nominations and abandon some traditions. At the 69th Venice Film Festival, both contemporary works will be shown and long-forgotten films will be remembered.
Ten films will be presented by the organizers of the 69th Venice Film Festival in the retrospective "80!", Which is timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the event. Among the selected rare seven full-length and three short films, there is a film by Russian directors of 1936 - "The Final Night" by Julius Raizman and Dmitry Vasiliev. The films were selected from the collection of the Historical Archive of Contemporary Art at the Biennale.
