The winner in the new project on Channel One was determined only by the number of votes of viewers. By the number of their sympathies, the singer from Orenburg Lydia Muzaleva won in the end. Of course, her victory was not accidental. In it, many years of work, a beautiful voice and the audience's longing for the glorious traditions of the sincerely open and free performance of Russian songs are intertwined and fused.
A songstress from the Muzalev family
The birthplace of the singer was the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Here, in 1956, her voice sounded for the first time. And she grew up in Shushenskoye. Like everyone else, I ran along streets unfamiliar with asphalt, fished and swam on the Shushka River. Simultaneously with the course of general school subjects, she learned to play the violin.
Mom, Taisiya Andreevna, worked at a poultry farm. Father, as an artist and a man of the free profession, was more often away from his family. In childhood, the upbringing of Lida and her brother Volodya was mainly dealt with by the grandmother Varvara. It was she who gave her granddaughter her great love for folk songs. Already at school, Lida was an artist, having visited with the propaganda team in all the settlements of the region.
Fateful meetings
Her natural gift and dream of becoming a singer were further developed after the Moscow State Institute of Culture, which Muzaleva graduated in 1977. While still a student on vacation, she met her future husband Pavel. And after the wedding, the young wife moved to him in Obninsk. It all began there.
The next meeting place was the famous "Builder". In this House of Culture under the wing of V. S. Pikalov's were gaining height, feeling the elbow of a friend, Muzaleva and her colleagues in love with folk music. Together we experienced stellar moments and anxious hours, when perestroika difficulties almost brought to an end the magnificent team that had sung over the years.
A happy coincidence and fate brought Muzaleva to the Kaluga Regional Philharmonic, when the famous orchestra of folk instruments was looking for a new soloist. Since then, with "Kalinka" the singer has traveled half of Europe on tour and performed on the most famous stages of Moscow.
Two inseparable voices - singer and button accordion
Muzaleva's first partner is still next to her on stage. The voice of the accordion Vladimir Simonov and the voice of the singer are inseparable. From the very beginning, from the first joint appearance to the audience in the "Stroitel" recreation center, they inspire and complement each other in the most amazing way. And the music of one soul sounds the alto timbre of Muzaleva and the button accordion of Simonov in the singer's solo performances.
Today they both have titles. And the repertoire of the Honored Artist and Honored Worker of Culture has grown to 200 romances, folk compositions and original songs. In their work, one can trace the continuity and continuation of the traditions of the great truly folk singers of the level of Obukhova, Ruslanova, Zykina, Shulzhenko.
The second Zykina with her own personality
When in the final of the television competition Muzaleva sang "Orenburg downy shawl", she was unanimously proclaimed the second Zykina. Although she has a completely different timbre. And Muzalev's air is picking up differently. Low notes are more soulful and velvety. Critics unanimously note the bright individuality of the singer's creativity.
Muzaleva herself does not hide that Zykina, who made an invaluable contribution to the piggy bank of Russian songs, is her idol. In 1999 they met while performing at the Singing Russia festival. Then Muzaleva presented Zykina with her first disc and received special praise for one of the compositions that sounded there. And in 2013, a disc dedicated to the great talent appeared, where Zykina's hits were performed by Muzaleva.
The heroine on stage, not in the gossip
In everyday life, the Honored Artist is distinguished by modesty and restraint. Muzaleva does not really like to answer questions from the press about her biography and is in no hurry to attract the attention of the public by flickering in the gossip. She is not recognized in shops and on the streets. The details of his personal life are not publicly discussed.
Although for all the years Muzaleva has not managed to build up a protective shell against rudeness and indifference. Until now, bureaucratic or everyday lack of culture wounds her soul. But he prefers to respond to rudeness with a disarming smile. Mental wounds heals with songs, contact with the audience.
And not only sincere ones. Once Muzaleva fell ill, began to cough and felt like a cold. I was worried that I would not be able to sing in such a state. But people are waiting for her performance. I went out to them - and then, miraculously, a voice cut through! It has been a long time since she sang so inspired, with such dedication.
My own costume designer
With her artistry and her sincerity, Muzaleva invariably captivates the audience. She tries to present each song as a dramatic work. Improving his creative style, he does not avoid experiments. The audience appreciated with gratitude and enthusiasm the joint performance of Muzaleva with the dance group "Kupava" and remembered the bright choreography "Birch Land" accompanied by her heartfelt voice.
The extraordinary stage outfits created by the singer herself became a great surprise for the audience. The image of a luxurious and majestic Russian beauty became a new facet of her work. The fantasies of a skilled needlewoman in folklore style have no boundaries. Colleagues even suspect that Muzaleva is consulting with her husband, the famous artist Pavel Wolfson.
Each performance is a feast for the soul
On stage, the artist looks like a queen. But at the same time she keeps herself so naturally, so sincerely gives a feeling of joy that her special gift of empathy is passed on to the public. The tension of everyday life and worries are pushed into the background by her wonderful voice. The soul rests, filled with pride that the Russian land gives birth to such talents.
Surprisingly, the artist admits that she feels almost the same quivering delight from contact with her listeners. And before each performance he worries like the first time. The originality of Muzaleva's personality is manifested by phenomenal efficiency. Maybe that's why time has no power over her. Muzaleva simply does not notice him, feeling the same interest in life as thirty years ago.
