Biography
Dmitry Monatik is a famous Ukrainian singer and dancer, in addition, he is a composer and songwriter. Was born in the Ukrainian city of Lutsk in 1986. He inherited musical data from his grandfathers, one of whom played the accordion, and the other danced. He first entered the music field at the age of 14, joining the DBS Crew, where he began to study dance, in particular, break dance. Soon the guy was able to achieve great success and began performing with the team at various venues, not only in his city, but throughout Ukraine. In parallel with dancing, Dmitry was fond of singing. The guy has no musical education.
Dmitry Monatik has a higher legal education (Volyn Institute in Lutsk), and even worked in his specialty for some time. Realizing that work as a lawyer does not give him pleasure, he began to actively pursue a musical career.
In 2008 Dmitry Monatik took part in the casting of the Ukrainian show "Star Factory". The artist did not get to the project, but was noticed by the popular singer in Ukraine Natalia Mogilevskaya, who transported him to Kiev and arranged for her ballet. After a while, the artist got a job at the Turbo dance school, where the most famous choreographers of the country worked. He was invited there as an administrator and dance teacher. While working at this school, Dima received many skills from his older comrades - fellow choreographers - this undoubtedly helped him grow even more as a professional.
In 2009 Dmitry Monatik created the Monatique group, wrote poetry and music for it.
In 2010, the artist successfully participated in several musical projects: dance show "Everybody dance!", Vocal show "X-Factor". Dmitry's career skyrocketed when in 2011 he filmed and posted a video clip "Tay Uletayu" on his phone. The video gained immense popularity, and famous Ukrainian and Russian musicians began to take an active interest in Dmitry Monatik. Soon Dmitry became a songwriter for such famous artists as Dmitry Bilan, Svetlana Loboda, Seryoga, Anna Sedokova.
In 2013, Dima recorded his first solo album using the creative name MONATIK, for which a year later he was awarded the M-1 Music Awards in the Breakthrough of the Year nomination. And in 2016 he won the Singer of the Year award for his second album, Sounds.
In 2016 he took part in the Ukrainian show "Voice. Children".
Now Dmitry Monatik also continues his musical path: he writes poetry and music for famous artists, performs in recitals.
Personal life
Dmitry Monatik is married. It is known that his wife Irina is its concert director. The couple are raising two sons. Dmitry claims that his wife always supports and believes in him. Hand in hand, they have experienced ups and downs, from this their love only became stronger.
Since the artist is often outside the house, he tries to spend any free minute with his family. According to Dmitry, his wife and children are his main stimulus for new achievements and victories.
