First works

Today Sergey Nikolaevich Andriyaka is not just an artist, but the creator and director of his own Academy of Watercolors and Fine Arts, opened in 2012. This is a higher educational institution that issues state diplomas along with state art universities. But up to this point, the artist had traveled a huge creative path, and Andriyak began to paint from the age of six.

Sergey Nikolaevich was born in Moscow in 1958. He began to write his first works under the guidance of his father - the famous artist Nikolai Ivanovich Andriyaka, who taught painting at the Surikov Institute, and was even its rector. And his son first studied at the art school at the institute, and then became a student at the university. The theme of the artist's thesis was the painting “On the Kulikovo Field. Everlasting memory.

After graduation, Sergei Andriyaka began to work hard, teach painting at his native academy, and a year later he became a member of the Union of Artists. Today, Andriyaka's work is more associated with watercolor painting. But he began to paint in oil and gouache, he had experience in painting porcelain and stained-glass windows. But the watercolor technique fascinated him more, and he became the founder of the painting technique without preliminary sketching and without the use of auxiliary paints. But watercolor is the most difficult and capricious material that does not forgive mistakes. Therefore, there are so few creators working with these paints.

Watercolor

In this technique, Andriyaka had such success that in 1999 he opened his own School of watercolors, which has been working to this day. Exhibitions of works by students of the school are exhibited all over the world. The artist himself has already held more than fifty personal exhibitions in different parts of the world. In 1996, Sergei Andriyaka received the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, and ten years later the title of People's Artist. Andriyaka is truly a "people's" artist. After all, his works are one of the few that adorn the carriages of the Aquarelle train of the Moscow metro.

The artist's personal life is as active as his career. He was married three times, he has six children, the last three from his last wife. In total, Sergei has two eldest sons and four daughters. The eldest daughter, unfortunately, has cerebral palsy, she moves in a special wheelchair. The artist tells little about his personal life and family. It is a known fact that he painted his first wife Daria when she was only … three years old. Then he asked her to pose for two more of his works, before they were connected by life. All the artist's children studied with him at the School of Watercolors, but so far they have not reached such creative heights as their father.
