Megan Elizabeth Laura Diana Falls is an actress of Canadian origin, in demand not only in her homeland, but also in America. She is known to many viewers for her role as Ann Shirley in Anne of Green Gables.
Biography
In Toronto, Canada, in the family of actors Ted Follows and Dawn Greenhalg, on March 14, 1968, their fourth child, Megan, was born. Parents from the very first days took the child to the set. And as soon as Megan grew up, she, together with her parents, sisters Edwina and Samantha, as well as her brother Lawrence, took part in theatrical performances. Megan Falls' first work on television was in 1978 in the short film Clare's Wish. And in 1979, an event occurred that changed her life, namely the divorce of her parents. Megan's mother, sisters and brother moved to Los Angeles.
Career
Upon arrival in Los Angeles, Dawn Greenhalgh immediately plunged into new roles. Many directors wanted to work with her, but the children were not left without attention either. Young Megan was invited not only to shoot commercials, but also TV series. So she starred in 1982 in "The Little Tramp" and "Facts from Life." And in 1985, the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel "The Silver Bullet" was released, where Megan had one of the main roles. But the role that attracted millions of viewers was the role of visionary and dreamer Anne Shirley in the 1985 film Anne of Green Gables. For her amazing performance in the film, Megan Follows won the Gemini Award for Best Actress. Meghan later received another Gemini Award, as well as an ACE Award for her role as Anne in Anne of Green Gables: The Sequel. After such success, Megan decided to try herself on the theatrical path. And in 1988 she played in the production of "The Influence of Gamma Rays on the Behavior of Daisies." Her mother and sister Samantha performed on the same stage with her. In the same year, director Alan King offered Meghan the role of a teenage prostitute and caring for his alcoholic mother in Termini Station. The picture was released in 1989, for this role Megan Follows was nominated for the Genie Awards. In 1990, Megan tested herself in a new capacity, she became the voice of Clara in the cartoon "The Nutcracker Prince". She continued her career as a theater actress with the role of Juliet in the play "Romeo and Juliet" at the prestigious Canadian Stratford Festival in 1992. In 2013, Megan took part in the filming of the TV series Kingdom, based on real events and describing the life of Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots. The actress got one of the main roles - Catherine de Medici, Queen of France.
In 2018, the media announced that Meghan would be the chief director of Marblemedia's "Held" psychological series.
Personal life
Megan Falls' first marriage to Christopher Porter lasted only four years from 1991 to 1995. But, nevertheless, she managed to give birth to him two children: daughter Layla Ann (born 1991) and son Russell (born 1995).
After the divorce, Megan began to live with Canadian actor Stewart Hughes and even obtained dual citizenship (Canada / USA). Until 2010, she and her children alternately lived in the Los Angeles residence, then in Toronto. However, after 14 years of life, the couple still broke up.
