Wesley Earl Craven was born on August 2, 1939 and died on August 30, 2015. This American filmmaker was the creator, producer and screenwriter of many famous slasher films.
Biography, career and personal life
Wes Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. She grew up in a committed Baptist family. After high school, he attended Wheaton Christian College in Illinois. Wes chose the English Literature Department. Due to illness, he was unable to complete his studies. Wes switched to psychology and received his degree in 1963. He was then awarded a master's degree from Hopkins University, which is located in the state of Mareland in Baltimore.
Wes worked as a liberal arts teacher. He married Bonnie Broecker. Their family had two children. Not having lived together for decades, the couple broke up. After the divorce, Craven moved to New York. He came a long way to the director's chair, initially working as a taxi driver. Wes first got a job as a sound engineer.
Wes's first directorial job was the 1971 film Together. In 1972, he released the film The Last House on the Left, in 1977 he created the film The Hills Have Eyes. Wes's work was a resounding success. The Hills Have Eyes won a prize at the Sitges Film Festival. Many of his works were popular with audiences and critics. In 2015, he died of a brain tumor.
