Step 1

In 2012, the festival began on April 24 with a press conference of the organizers in GUM. Mikhail Kusnirovich, head of the Bosco di Ciliegi company, announced the motto of the upcoming festival - "Culture of recreation" or "Rest of Cultures". Also, theater directors, actors, scriptwriters and exhibition organizers spoke about their projects dedicated to the festival.

Step 2

The program of events included the premieres of several films. In April, for the first time in Russia, a French film "1 + 1" was shown, which tells about the history of the relationship between a French aristocrat who was injured and his personal assistant, a native of a poor neighborhood. At the end of May, a Russian project, Images of Italy, a documentary film with the participation of Vladimir Pozdner and Ivan Urgant, was shown in the GUMA cinema. This picture is a journey through Italy and an attempt to uncover the specifics of this country. This film was a continuation of the documentary cycle, which began with films about the United States and France.

Step 3

Several theater groups took part in the event at once. The Musical "Fanfan Tulip" was staged at the Moscow Operetta Theater. The Sovremennik Theater presented its new production, Hidden Perspective. Oleg Tabakov's studio theater demonstrated the play "The Year When I Was Not Born" based on the play by Viktor Rozov.

Step 4

Much attention was paid to music at the festival. Live music was played in the Gorky Park for several days. Lovers of classical arias were pleased with the performance of Dmitry Hvorostovsky in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. At the same time, the Bolshoi Theater has delighted connoisseurs of ballet with a new production of Rodin.

Step 5

In addition to performances and concerts, exhibitions were also held within the framework of the project. One can note the bringing of sculptures by Rodin brought from France, as well as an exhibition of photographs of the capital's theaters.
