Biography: early years

Avangard Nikolaevich Leontiev was born on February 27, 1947 in Moscow. In his words, the parents were "ordinary Soviet people." Dad worked as an engineer at a construction site, and mom was a housewife. Parents are from Orel. They met in a local amateur performance, where mom performed in a dance club, and dad in a drama club. When the parents moved to Moscow, my father entered the Higher Directing Courses with Vsevolod Meyerhold himself. However, my mother opposed this. For this reason, he dropped out of courses.

The Leontyev family lived in a communal apartment located in Bolshoy Karetny Lane. The avant-garde dreamed of a stage from an early age. Already at the age of four, he got up on a chair and recited poetry to neighbors in a communal apartment. At school, Avangard was engaged in a drama circle. Later he began to visit the Studio of the artistic word at the House of Pioneers. There he studied with Anna Bovshek, who studied with Evgeny Vakhtangov and Konstantin Stanislavsky. Under her leadership, the Avant-garde has noticeably increased in acting. Bovshek taught him to keep the rhythm, to pause, to keep the rhyme. As a high school student, Avangard organized a theater studio, where he staged various performances with his classmates.

After school, Leontiev entered the Moscow Art Theater School without any problems. He got to Paul Massalsky. At first, the Vanguard was among the laggards. Already in the second year, he noticeably pulled himself up and became a "leader". After graduating from the Studio School, he was invited to the Moscow Sovremennik.

Career

On the stage of Sovremennik Leontiev embodied more than two dozen images. The directors asked him to play mainly character characters. The avant-garde took part in such productions as:

  • "At the bottom";
  • The Princess and the Woodcutter;
  • "Forever Alive";
  • "From evening to noon";
  • "Twelfth Night";
  • “Don't shoot white swans”;
  • “And in the morning they woke up”;
  • "The Cherry Orchard".

In 1974 Leontiev tried his hand at teaching. He began working in a drama studio at the Palace of Pioneers. And then, at the invitation of Oleg Tabakov, with whom he had been friends for a long time, Leontiev began to teach at the courses of the Moscow Art Theater School.

In the early nineties, Avangard moved to the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater. On his stage, he played in such performances as:

  • "A Lesson for Wives";
  • "Forest";
  • "Tartuffe";
  • "Overcoat".

Since the mid-nineties, he began to take part in private entreprise. At the same time, he tried himself as a theater director.

The film debut of Vanguard took place in 1974. Then he played in the film "Magre and the Old Lady". On account of his participation in three dozen films and TV series, including "The Barber of Siberia", "Sunstroke", "Yesenin".

Personal life

Vanguard Leontiev was not officially married. There is no information about children. According to rumors, he is a representative of non-traditional sexual orientation. Leontyev himself did not make loud statements on this matter.
