Biography

Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev was born on July 11, 1951 in Leningrad. My father was a military sailor, served in the Baltic. Nikolai studied at the St. Petersburg school number 211. The institution had a physical and mathematical bias. Boris Gryzlov was among his classmates.

Since Patrushev appeared in the family of a sailor, after graduating from school he had one way - to the shipbuilding institute. He became a student at the Faculty of Instrumentation. Nikolai received the profession of a mechanical engineer, and at first he was an employee of one of the departments of his alma mater.

Career

In 1974, Patrushev came to the state security structure. Soon he graduated from the Higher Courses of the KGB and began to work in the counterintelligence unit of the department in the Leningrad District. Nikolai began his career as a junior operatic. He quickly rose to the rank of head of the anti-smuggling service.

While working in the KGB, Nikolai met Vladimir Putin, who at that time was also a "Chekist". According to rumors, it was Patrushev, as the head of the anti-corruption unit, who controlled the internal audit of the future Russian president in the case of gambles with the export of valuable metals outside the cordon.

In 1992, Patrushev was transferred to neighboring Karelia and appointed Minister of Security. Subsequently, he will become an honorary citizen of this republic. Nikolay worked there for two years. In 1994 he was transferred to Moscow, where he began serving in the FSB. At that time, this department was headed by Sergei Stepashin. In the FSB, Patrushev held various high posts.

In 1998, he became head of the presidential administration, replacing Vladimir Putin when he became prime minister. In the same year, Nikolai returned to the FSB, where he became the head of the Department of Economic Security. A year later he took the chair of the deputy director of the department. Soon Patrushev became the director of the FSB. He held this chair for nine years.

In 2008 Patrushev became the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation. Ten years later he was re-elected.

Patrushev rose to the rank of general. He has a Doctor of Law degree and the title of Hero of the Russian Federation. He is also an honored employee of the state security agencies of the country.

Personal life

Nikolay Patrushev is married. He carefully hides his wife from the public. It is known that two sons were born in marriage - Dmitry and Andrey. Both are graduates of the FSB Academy. The eldest son, Dmitry, chaired Rosselkhozbank, which is one of the top three banks in Russia. In 2018, he became the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. The second son, Andrei, is associated with the oil industry.
