The Golden Fleece is an echo of ancient Greek mythology. It was in his search that the brave hero Jason went under the auspices of the glorious goddess Aphrodite in the company of the Argonauts - the heroes of Hellas.
Who is Jason?
Jason is a hero of Greek mythology, the son of King Eson, who rules in the town of Iolkus, located on the Peloponnese peninsula. His father sent him far outside the city to save him from the wrath of Pelias, who longed to seize the throne. Having reached the age of sixteen, Jason decided to go to Iolk again to return power to his father. On the way, the warrior lost his sandal, which caused a wave of fear in Pelias, to whom the oracle predicted death by the hand of a man in one sandal. The evil ruler promised to return the throne to the rightful king, if Jason does the impossible - he will get the Golden Fleece.
What is the Golden Fleece?
This is the golden skin of a ram, once hidden on the territory of the present eastern coast of the Black Sea by the son of Phrix, the king of Greek cities. He miraculously escaped his pursuers and thanked the indulgent Zeus by sacrificing an expensive ram to him. And he gave his golden skin to the king of Colchis. Soon the Golden Fleece became the magical guarantor of the prosperity and wealth of the inhabitants of Colchis, and therefore a fierce dragon was entrusted with its protection.
Jason was not used to abandoning his goals, he built a ship called "Argo" and set off under the auspices of the goddess Aphrodite. Courageous Argonauts became his faithful companions: Theseus, Hercules, Orpheus and other noble heroes of Hellas. On their way there were many obstacles - shifting rocks, narrow straits, harpies and other mythical creatures. Arriving in Colchis, Jason asked for the fleece from the local king Eetus. The ruler, in turn, asks the hero to plow the field with divine bulls, then sow it with dragon teeth and defeat the enemies that will grow out of them. The daughter of Eeta helps the Argonauts to cope with their enemies with the help of a magic potion. However, the king is in no hurry to part with his treasure and sends Jason to fight the formidable dragon. The hero boldly goes into battle and gains victory over the monster, again not without the help of the beautiful companion Medea.
Returning home with the Golden Fleece, Jason demanded that Pelias vacate the throne immediately. However, the hero soon learned that his father had been brutally murdered. The insidious sorceress Medea convinces the ruler's daughters to kill their father in order to revive him and rejuvenate him with the help of magic potions. Thus, Jason and Medea deal with the offender. Now the Golden Fleece, which came to us from ancient Greek mythology, is the personification of wealth, prosperity and good luck in all matters.
