The short abbreviation for the Navy is usually used to designate the Russian Navy. It is believed that the fleet in Russia began its history in the 9th century, but the true dawn of the fleet, of course, is the years of the reign of Emperor Peter the Great.
At the official level, it is customary to celebrate the Day of the Russian Navy on the last Sunday of July every year. The day of the Navy is celebrated on the basis of the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "On Holidays and Memorable Days", which was signed on October 1, 1980. This day is dedicated to all people who have linked their lives with the protection of the maritime borders of Russia, as well as people who are directly related to the combat training of ships, the preparation of naval units and bases, and employees of naval institutions.
Russian fleet
Today the Russian fleet is the Baltic Fleet, the Black Sea Fleet, the Northern Fleet and the Pacific Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla. Every year the family grows with combat and patrol vessels, which often have the latest equipment and navigation systems that no one else in the world has. After a protracted crisis of perestroika times, which the fleet survived with dignity, a target program was developed, according to which more than 40 warships will be put into service with the Navy by 2015, the construction of nuclear submarines and frigates is expected.
In 2012, the combat submarines B-90 "Sarov", the submarine submarine B-585 "Saint Petersburg", the frigate "Yaroslav the Wise", the corvettes "Guarding", "Soobrazitelny" and "Dagestan" were put into operation.
Memorial day
Navy Day in Russia is not just another holiday, it is an event-memory of people who died in naval battles, sadness about parting with loved ones and relatives, this is an honor that everyone should give in memory of the sea heroes. For many centuries, the navy has been the guardian of order and the defense of the country. It is difficult to overestimate the importance of the Navy.
It is worth noting that the very creation of the fleet became a necessity for Russia, even at the turn of the 17-18 centuries, as the country tried to overcome the territorial and political isolation that had arisen. And during the reign of the great Tsar Peter I, it was decided to create the Russian fleet.
The technically advanced Russian nuclear submarine K-152 Nerpa has been leased to India.
Tsar Peter the First, who relied on Western experience, understood perfectly well that without the development of the fleet and its further movement, the country would not be able to advance to other frontiers. His activity was truly large-scale, so already in 1700 more than 40 sailing and 113 rowing ships were manufactured and launched.
Currently, the Russian Navy is a branch of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and is designed to protect and conduct combat operations. The composition of the Navy:
- surface forces, - submarine forces, - coastal troops, including marines, - naval aviation.
