Komsomol leader

Raduev is from Checheno-Ingushetia. He was born in 1967 in the city of Gudermes. His father had two wives, besides Salman, eight more children were growing up in the family. After graduating from high school, he worked as a plasterer, then did military service. After demobilization, he got a job as a foreman at a vocational school. Even in the army, the young man showed organizational skills and initiative, at the school he was entrusted with the post of the released Komsomol secretary. Raduev showed himself most actively already as a member of the republican committee of the Komsomol. He was the head of the department, participated in the organization of Komsomol construction projects, traveled a lot around the country.

Entrepreneur

The 90s made adjustments to Salman's biography. He decided to go into business and co-founded a firm that traded in light industry goods. In an interview of that time, a novice entrepreneur, talking about himself, presented various information about his education. The names of various economic universities, forms of education and academic degrees were featured. But none of the above facts found reliable confirmation.

Chechen revolution

In 1992, he supported the Chechen leader Dzhokhar Dudayev on the issue of separating Chechnya from Russia. The general even appointed his supporter as prefect of Gudermes. He stayed in this position for two years. The self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria needed a reliable army. Salman Raduev took up this task. Under his leadership, an armed formation "Presidential Berets" was created, which became the elite and support of the CRI. During the first Chechen campaign, it was transformed into the Borz special forces unit. Raduev took over command of the North-Eastern Front.

While Gudermes was in the hands of federal troops, the militant was hiding in the Vedeno mountains in the detachment of the chief terrorist Shamil Basayev. When the Ichkeria authorities organized local council elections in December 1995, Salman called himself the head of Gudermes, attacked the city and held it for nine days. Then his name first thundered all over the country.

In January of the following year, a detachment of militants under the command of Raduev undertook a major operation in Dagestan. The main blow fell on the city of Kizlyar, the helicopter base and the town of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. A new battle took place on the border of the republic in the village of Pervomayskoye, in which hundreds of civilians again died. After this operation, Salman became a brigadier general.

Terrorist number two

The militant was put on the federal wanted list and Interpol. They tried to liquidate him several times. During one of the operations, Raduev's house in Gudermes was blown up, all of his relatives were killed. Information about the general's death was leaked to the media, but it turned out to be erroneous. After three months of silence at a press conference in Grozny, he showed his face after being wounded. In Germany, where he was transported, operations were performed on the plastic of the nose and eyes. Areas of the damaged skull were replaced with titanium plates, so Salman received the unofficial name "Titanic".

Until the summer of 1997, Raduev commanded General Dudayev's Army, and after the death of the opposition leader he took his place. When Maskhadov was elected president of Chechnya, Salman openly opposed the new government. The Shariah court issued a decision that imprisoned the criminal for a period of four years, but he refused to comply. To the demands of the authorities to stop the unsanctioned terror, he refused and took responsibility for many crimes. His demand was unequivocal - to withdraw federal troops from Chechen territory.

Punishment

Another assassination attempt brought new injuries and burns to the militant, so he spent the next year in Pakistan. And when he returned to Chechnya, he threatened with a series of new terrorist attacks against nuclear facilities.

The famous terrorist was arrested in March 2000. He was taken to Moscow, to Lefortovo. Before the guards appeared a puny man with a disfigured face, in no way resembling a military general who had done so much evil. The trial against Raduev lasted more than two years. The guilt of the militant was proved on all counts, the verdict was not in doubt - life imprisonment. A year after the verdict was announced, news came from the Perm colony "White Swan" about Raduev's death. He died in the Solikamsk hospital from internal bleeding, the cause of which could not be established.

About the terrorist's personal life, we can say that he was married to Dudayev's niece. Lydia gave birth to her husband two sons. Little is known about how the widow lives today. There is information that she and her children managed to leave the country and settle in Turkey.

Thus ended the biography of the number two terrorist in Russia, Salman Betyrovich Raduev, whose fate in other circumstances could have turned out differently.
