Elena Sergeevna Sokolova, a textured blonde, possessed all the necessary qualities to achieve high performance in single figure skating. In the active phase of her career, she became the champion of Russia three times. She achieved these results in one breath, being in a state of psychological comfort and peace of mind.
The famous figure skater was born on February 15, 1980 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents lived in Moscow. My father worked as an engineer. Mother taught Russian language and literature. The child grew up surrounded by care and attention. When the girl was four years old, she was enrolled in the figure skating section of a children's sports school. To get to the ice rink, you had to take several metro stops. At the first stage, Elena was lucky with a coach. An experienced mentor managed to instill in the athlete all the basic skills of ice skating.
Sports achivments
Figure skating is a joint work of an athlete and a coach. When a relationship of trust develops between them, then the goals set are necessarily achieved. In 1997, Sokolova, performing in singles, won the silver medal at the World Junior Championships. The following year, she won a bronze medal at the Russian Senior Championship. She was included in the national team. However, over the next four years, Elena was unable to demonstrate her abilities and get among the prize-winners at prestigious competitions.
Sokolova spent two years in St. Petersburg, studying under the guidance of another coach. This did not bring the expected results. Moreover, in a harmless situation, the skater received a concussion and could not train for several months. I had to humble my explosive nature and return to my former mentor. In the 2002-2003 season, she won first place in the national championship. Then she became the silver medalist of the World and European Championships. In the next two seasons, she confidently confirmed her champion status at the Russian championship. But in 2006 at the Olympics in Turin, she did not make the top ten.
Education and personal life
Despite being busy in the training process, Sokolova managed to get a specialized education at the Faculty of Sports Journalism at the Moscow University of Physical Education and Tourism. In 2007, Elena decided to end her sports career.
Little is known about the personal life of the titled skater. She tried several times to build relationships and start a family. However, there were no reports of the wedding in the media. How Elena lives today is known only to close relatives.
