Temporary registration - or registration at the place of stay, as it is correctly called - is issued in the departments of the Federal Migration Service. In order not to make unnecessary movements, it is better to know in advance the mechanism of this procedure.
Instructions
Step 1
With all the owners of the living quarters in which you will register, come to the territorial subdivision of the FMS. Each of those present must have an identity document with them. These documents include: passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation; birth certificate (for persons under the age of 14); an unexpired passport of a citizen of the USSR; foreign passport (for persons permanently residing outside the Russian Federation).
Step 2
Fill out an application for registration at the place of stay addressed to the head of the territorial division of the FMS, to which your new address belongs. You should be provided with a sample. For minor citizens, the parent (legal representative) writes the application. Ask the person providing the accommodation (the one to whom you are registering) to sign in the appropriate box. An exception is the situation when you register in your own home: write your details and sign yourself as the owner.
Step 3
Provide the document that serves as the basis for your move into the indicated premises. This can be a lease agreement, a certificate of state registration of property rights, a court order on the right to use residential premises, etc. The FMS employee will take your documents and issue a ready-made registration certificate within three days.
