Pension insurance certificate is necessary not only for registration of future pensions. Already now, the pension account number (otherwise - SNILS) allows you to use numerous convenient online services of the portal of state and municipal services in Russia. And since 2012, it will become the only condition for access to the electronic card of a citizen - a new project, which is planned to replace many of the existing paper documents. In particular - a medical policy and TIN.

Instructions
Step 1
Check with your employer. If your employment relationship is formalized, then it is the employer who should take the trouble to draw up your pension certificate. Even a questionnaire for its receipt can be filled out not by you personally, but by employees of the personnel department of your enterprise, and you only need to certify it with your signature, and then receive a ready-made green card.
Step 2
Contact your local Pension Fund authority to apply yourself. Take your passport or other document proving your identity with you. Receive the application form and fill it out in block letters in strict accordance with the established requirements: legibly, without blots and corrections in black, purple or blue ink. It is also allowed to fill in the data of the questionnaire on a printer or typewriter.
Step 3
Submit the completed application form to the fund's employees and show them your passport to verify your identity.
Step 4
Receive a ready-made pension insurance certificate in person by visiting a branch of the Pension Fund at the appointed time. You may be refused to issue a certificate if you have already received SNILS before.
Step 5
Replace your pension insurance certificate if you have changed any of your personal data (last name, first name, etc.). It is advisable to issue a replacement within two weeks from the date of the official registration of the changes. If you have lost your certificate, also contact the regional office of the Pension Fund of Russia with a corresponding statement. You will get a new form in about a month.
Step 6
Please note that the number (that is, the SNILS itself is the insurance number of an individual personal account) remains unchanged when the certificate is replaced or a new form is issued due to loss. It is assigned to a person once and for life.
Step 7
Issue insurance pension certificates for your children as well. To do this, contact the Pension Fund with your passport and birth certificates for children under 14 years old. Children from 14 years old must present their passport to obtain SNILS.
