Biography
The future great actor was born on September 28, 1924 in the Leary Fountain, Italy. His family lived in poverty, his mother was a housewife, and his father worked as a carpenter. Marcello graduated from a technical school and changed many specialties. He was a builder, laborer, draftsman and even an accountant.
During World War II, he decided to graduate and become an architect, so he entered the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Rome. There he became interested in amateur theater, in which he played with Juliet Mazina (future wife of Federico Fellini). At one of the performances of the student theater, the future actor was noticed by Luchino Visconti (the famous director) and invited Mastroianni to work in his theater "Eliza". Mastroiani's debut on the professional stage took place in 1948.

Mastroianni appeared in the cinema at the age of 11. He was an extra and starred in extras.
