Sergei Lemeshev is a sweet-voiced nightingale of the Soviet era. But his creative path was not easy, and the singer's purposefulness on the road to fame deserves respect.
Childhood
Sergei Lemeshev was born in 1902 in a small village in the Tver region. His parents were peasants, but both were very musical, his mother was considered the best singer in the village. Sergei grew up with his brother Alexei, the boys were very friendly. The rest of the children in the family died.
Sergey sang from early childhood. It was as natural to him as working in the field. But one day his uncle took him with him to Petersburg, and then the boy learned that it turns out that singing can be a profession. This thought firmly sunk into the guy's soul.
Education
Elena Nikolaevna Kvashnina, the wife of a local landowner and architect, played an important role in Sergei's musical education. She graduated from the Saratov Conservatory in due time and invited talented children to study. The elder brother Alexei Lemeshev did not attach much importance to music lessons, considering them frivolous, although, according to Elena Nikolaevna, he had a stronger voice than Sergei. But Sergei studied music with gusto.
Once Sergei Lemeshev felt the strength in himself and went on foot to Tver, where he was auditioned at the local house of culture and was allowed to participate in concerts.
Sergei experienced many difficulties before he entered the Moscow Conservatory. But for a guy from the village, it was a great achievement. Not everything was going smoothly at the conservatory either. He had to retrain because he previously breathed incorrectly while singing. In addition, the young man studied with many teachers, trying to take a grain of wisdom from each of them.
Creative way
After graduating from the Conservatory, Lemeshev was offered a job at the Bolshoi Theater, but he refused, preferring the Sverdlovsk Opera House. The count was on the fact that in the Urals the main roles were immediately awaited for the young singer, but at the Bolshoi Theater this would have to wait a long time.
Lemeshev returned to the Bolshoi Theater as a star. Further success, fame, love of the audience and the best concert halls of the Soviet Union awaited him.
Personal life
Sergei Lemeshev was terribly amorous. Moreover, women loved him as if they were possessed. Fans did not give him a pass and often behaved indecently (at that time the rules of decency were much tougher than the current ones). Judging by the photographs, the singer was handsome, but he probably attracted fans with his charming voice.
Lemeshev was officially married five times. All his wives could not stand his endless betrayals and left the singer. An exception is his fifth wife, opera singer Vera Kudryavtseva, who philosophically looked at her husband's hobbies, so their union lasted twenty-five years.
The singer has a daughter, Maria, from his fourth wife, Irina Maslennikova. The daughter also became an opera singer.
