Taryn Manning was born in 1978 in the family of Bill and Sharyn Manning. A few years after her birth, in 1981, the family of the future star broke up. And since then, Sharyn actually raised Taryn (as well as her older brother, Kellin) alone.

Taryn began acting in films in the first half of the nineties, that is, while still a teenager. So, for example, in 1993 she appeared in the TV series "New York Police", and in 1994 in the TV series "Stuff."

Over the next few years, Manning had many cameo roles in a number of television and film projects. Among them are "The Best", "Practice", "Goodbye to Tomorrow", "Be Happy!" and "Extraordinary". However, Manning's first more or less noticeable film work was the role of Maddie in the 2001 melodrama Mad and Beautiful.

In 2002, the film "Crossroads" was released, where Taryn got one of the main roles. Crossroads is the story of three girlfriends who travel to Los Angeles together in the hope of making their dreams come true. It is worth noting that the famous singer Britney Spears also starred here with Taryn.

Another notable 2002 film starring Manning is 8 Mile. Here she portrayed Janine, a minor female character. And the main character in this tape was played, as many know, by the rapper Eminem.

In 2002, Manning sang "I'll Take You There" with R&B singer Tweet for an advertisement for the American company Gap.

In 2003, Taryn teamed up with her brother Kellin to form the musical duo Boomkat. Soon the duo released two highly successful singles in the USA - "What U Do 2 Me" and "The Wreckoning". And the debut audio album went on sale on March 18, 2003 - it was called "Boomkatalog. One".

After that, the duo took a long break. Boomkat's new single, "Runaway", was released to fans only in 2008. Also, a video was shot for this song. It premiered on their official YouTube channel and Taryn Manning's Myspace page on April 8, 2008.

In June 2008, Boomkat's second album, "A Million Trillion Stars", was released digitally in online stores. However, it was officially released nine months later on March 10, 2009 through the independent label Little Vanilla Records, directly owned by Taryn Manning.

One of the songs on the album, the song "Stomp", was released as a single on July 21, 2009. And on October 27, 2009, the song "Burn" was performed on the MTV channel in the show "The Hills". In addition, in support of the second studio album, the Boomkat duo gave concerts both in 2008 and in 2009.
