Nikolai Mikhailovich Baranov was born in May 1929 in the Vladimir region. His small homeland was the village of Myachkovo.

Kolya lived then in the village and there was no specialized medical care there. The elder brother came here, took the boy out and went with him to the city of Vladimir for examination. Doctors diagnosed the child and sent him to a bone tuberculosis sanatorium.
Here the boy was treated, and he developed his artistic gift. One of the teachers helped the child in his work by donating colored pencils. When the boy recovered in a sanatorium, got stronger, he again went to his native village. Here he finished 7 classes, then went to the city of Vladimir - to an art and craft school.
Career
Having received a specialty and a decent education, Nikolai Baranov goes to work in the theater as an artist-designer. Here he meets many famous actors with whom he has developed excellent relationships.
Then Nikolai Mikhailovich works in a museum, decorates an art gallery in the city of Vladimir. She is in the central park. The painter made a great contribution to the founding of the Center for the Arts in Vladimir. The building intended for this could not be transferred to the disposal of artists. But Nikolai Mikhailovich helped to speed things up, and so a fine arts center arose in Vladimir.
Brave youth
The future famous artist was still a teenager when he showed his persistent character. Since the child even after arriving from the sanatorium had problems with his legs, he went to school on crutches. She was 10 km from the house.
In the educational institution, Kolya hid crutches and walked around the school without them. But one day these vehicles were stolen. Then Nikolai had to get home without crutches, overcoming such a long distance. This case was told by a grown-up fellow villager Nikolai Baranov. He noted that later the artist also clearly followed his path, despite the difficulties.
Creation
The painter left behind many wonderful works, including:
