Andrey Baranov was born in 1960. He was born in the city of Volzhsk.

When Andrei was 5 years old, he froze his fingers. The parents of the child were advised a remedy that would help restore the function of the hands. So the boy began to learn to play the accordion. Then he became so interested in music that he also began to play the guitar.

Over time, the child and his parents moved to Moscow. And since the mother and father then went on a long business trip abroad, Andrei had to give time to a boarding school. Here he finished the tenth grade.

In 1977, the young man tried to enter the IISS institute, but he did not get points. Then Andrey decided to return to his native Volzhsk. Here the young man began to work at a paper mill. But he still dreamed of getting a higher education. A year later, Andrei again went to Moscow and passed the entrance exams at the Institute of Civil Aviation. He decided to become an electronic equipment technician. This time the attempt was successful, the young man entered the institute, and in 1985 he graduated from it.

Andrei Baranov, already studying at the institute, began to understand that he did not want to work in his specialty. He was more and more fascinated by folk music. The young man began to work in a folk group headed by Vladimir Vasilyevich Nazarov.

The creatively gifted young man continues to improve his skills in the group of Vladimir Nazarov. He also becomes a member of the "Own Game" team. This group sang many songs that have become popular, including the hits "Ah, Carnival", "Dance of the Little Ducklings".

Andrey Vladimirovich was a virtuoso accompaniment to the members of the group, already then showing himself to be a professional multi-instrumentalist.

In the late 1980s, Baranov began touring. At this time, he participates in the "Peace Caravan" project, which includes actors, musicians, clowns. As part of this brigade, Andrei Vladimirovich traveled around Europe.

At the beginning of the new century, the virtuoso musician decides to create his own team. Here he invites Anatoly Negashev, who played the double bass, and Mikhail Makhovich, who accompanied the mandolin. It was decided to name this musical group "Trio Baranoff", since there were 3 participants. At this time, Andrei Vladimirovich is still recording albums, continues to tour.

In total, he visited 42 countries of the world, and the number of artist's recordings exceeds 650 pieces. A. V. Baranov played acoustic guitar, keyboards, various stringed plucked instruments.

He was able to master kazoo. This is an American folk instrument, which is made in the form of a wooden or metal cylinder. This base has a sharp tip on one side. A metal plug is cut into the middle of the cylinder, where a piece of tissue paper is installed as a membrane. They sing into this hole. The membrane significantly changes the performer's voice. Andrey Baranov also mastered percussion. This is a group of non-classical percussion instruments, which include, for example, bells, tambourine, triangle, wooden spoons, and so on.

This famous musician studied various pagan cultures. Among them were Tuvan throat singing, shamanism.

In Europe, Baranov managed to organize festivals of Yakut folk music, he wanted to open a folklore center in Dusseldorf, but he did not succeed in the latter.

Andrei Vladimirovich also took part in the musical design of the performances. He wrote songs for Tatyana Vasilyeva, Lev Durov, Valery Garkalin, for the Litsedei collective. These works were used in theatrical productions.

This talented musician also wrote many soundtracks for the "Plot" series, he himself performed the vocals for this film. But the extraordinary composer was not destined to see his creation. He died in early August 2003. Andrey Baranov was driving along the Yoshkar-Ola - Volzhsk highway, but there was a car accident. In memory of this man, a club called "On the stumps" was founded. Famous songwriters and musicians perform here.

Every year Volzhsk hosts an International Festival named after Andrei Baranov.

A street in Volzhsk was named in honor of this original musician.

His colleagues have released an album, which includes a composition called "Dedication to Andrei Baranov."

When this musician was on the island of Providencia, he brought from there the expression "mamakabo". He included this word in the title of his only lifetime album.

Then the video "Mamakabo" was shot, where the actress Tatyana Vasilyeva and Leonid Leikin from the "Litsedei" group participated. The word dear to Andrey Baranov was not forgotten. When the musician passed away, his friends organized an Art Festival, which they called "Mamakabo". It takes place not only in many Russian cities, but also abroad.
