The biography of the popular poet and translator Mikhail Alexandrovich began in the village of Klevnevo in 1916. He was born on November 7 (20) in a peasant family. Mikhail was educated at the Ivanovo textile factory-school. After completing the course, the graduate became a student at the local pedagogical institute. At the same time, work began as a journalist for a local newspaper.

The beginning of literary activity

The author published his first poems at the age of eighteen, in 1934. In 1939 Dudin went to the front. His debut collection of poetry was published in 1940. The author was published in front-line newspapers, worked in besieged Leningrad.

After the end of the war, Dudin took up social activities. He collaborated with the Leningrad department of the Peace Defense Committee and initiated the creation of the Green Belt of Glory. The memorial group was founded in the sixties on the borders of the main battles for Northern Palmyra. The main task of the monument was to perpetuate the memory of the defenders of the city and those who survived the blockade.

Since 1985 Mikhail Aleksandrovich was a member of the board of the country's writers' organization. He served as co-chairman of the Writers' Union of Russia. One of the most famous monuments created on the initiative of the poet is the monument to the defenders of Leningrad.

Together with Geychenko, Dudin organized the All-Union Pushkin Poetic Feasts held in the village of Mikhailovskoye. The figure played a key role in organizing the annual readings. In the vicinity of the village of Bugrovo, Dudin's poetic lines dedicated to the Great Patriotic War are inscribed on the grave of the unknown soldier.

In 1964, together with Valery Pogoreltsev and Sergei Orlov, the script for the film Lark was created. Actor Pogoreltsev played the role of tanker Alexei in the film. According to the plot, the action begins in 1942. The Germans are busy improving the combat characteristics of anti-tank guns. They use captured Soviet tanks for testing.

The captured mechanic Ivan, together with the crew of the T-34, organizes an escape from the enemy rear. The basis for the creation of the film was the work of Samuil Alyoshin "To Each His Own" and the script for the film "General Guderian's Mistake" by Lev Sheinin. The writer began this work after visiting a motorized rifle group of forces in Germany.

Mikhail Alexandrovich not only wrote poetry himself. He was engaged in translating the works of republican poets into Russian. His most famous collection was "The Promised Land". The book was published in 1989 in Yerevan. The poet donated all the funds received for the compositions to the victims of the earthquake. Often, songs based on Dudin's lyrics are played in films. These are comedy tapes "Tiger Tamer", "Maxim Perepelitsa".

Memory of the poet

The personal life of the talented figure also turned out to be well-adjusted. Dudin's wife was Irina Nikolaevna Tarsanova, editor of one of the St. Petersburg film studios. The family has a child, daughter Elena.

The remarkable poet passed away on the final day of 1993. In memory of him, a bronze bust was erected in Ivanovo. A song and poetry festival in memory of Dudin is being held. Since 1997, a regional prize named after the poet has been established within its framework. In the regional museum of Ivanov there is a room-museum of the poet.

The public museum of Mikhail Alexandrovich functions in the library of the village of Shirokova. In 2005, a memorial plaque was installed on the house where the poet lived in St. Petersburg. The author's museum office was opened at the Ivanovo State University.

In 2012, one of the new streets of St. Petersburg became Mikhail Dudin Street. At the end of autumn, a memorial plaque in his honor was solemnly opened there.
