Extracurricular reading helps develop a child's interest in literature. It also promotes literacy, develops intelligence, and provides moral and aesthetic education.
The school literature program requires extracurricular reading. Therefore, schoolchildren are advised to read books even during holidays. In this case, we are talking about fiction. Acquaintance with fiction allows the student to develop logical thinking and imagination, as well as broaden their horizons.
What books are helpful for primary school students?

Books for high school students (5th grade and beyond)
• BN Polevoy - "The Story of a Real Man". The story is dedicated to the exploits of the Soviet pilot Meresiev. This patriotic work tells how the hero pilot, despite a difficult fate and numerous wounds, returned to duty and continued to serve his native people.
• V. Gogol - "Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka". A funny and exciting story is filled with fantastic events and popular beliefs, and the idea of the victory of good over evil allows readers of the book to feel a lyrical note.
• L. Carroll - "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice Through the Looking Glass". These tales are unique in that they were written not by a storyteller, but by a mathematician. In fairy tales, mathematical and philosophical jokes are used, so the fairy tale is designed for high school students.
• Green A. - "Scarlet Sails". The story of the life of a girl named Assol, who was waiting for a prince, and one day her dream of a prince came true.
• Ilf I. and Petrov E. - "Twelve chairs". This satirical novel can rightfully be considered a bestseller of Russian literature. This work by Ilf and Petrov has long been a source of quotes and funny aphorisms.
