Youth
Elena Tonunts was born in Magadan on July 17, 1954. It was then that her parents, by coincidence, ended up in Magadan. His father, a naval officer, from early childhood instilled in his daughter the need for daily physical activity, and his main idea was to teach his daughter a love of sports.
Until the age of 11-12, Elena responsibly and with great desire attended rhythmic gymnastics. In addition, she spent her free time in a ballet studio, because it is there that physical training is cleaner than sports. The athletic girl managed to combine her hobbies with school. The daughter of a Marine officer studied brilliantly. Every year she was one of the best at the Olympiads in mathematics, physics and chemistry. This is what made it possible to consider technical universities for obtaining the main profession.
Failed geologist
Elena went to the capital of our country to conquer higher educational institutions. Having successfully passed the geological faculty exams at Moscow State University, she decided to stay and continue her studies. Already in the process of her studies, the young student of Moscow State University began to be tormented by doubts that geology no longer attracted her. Nevertheless, she graduated from the university in 1976. After completing her studies, she was sent to Divnogorsk, Krasnodar Territory. Since living conditions in this city were terrible, Elena decided not to go to work. They were looking for her. Thanks to the hospitality of a family of Moscow relatives, it was possible to register in the capital and the girl stayed to live in Moscow, while preparing to enter a theater university.
Movie actress
Elena Tonunts began her studies at the famous GITIS. The debut work of a freshman of the acting department delighted the audience - in the melodrama "Confusion of Feelings" Elena played one of the leading roles. As a student at the theater institute she starred in the films Orion's Loop, Portrait of the Artist's Wife, and the comedy Carnival
The first big success came to her after the role played in the humorous film "Cyclone". Elena admitted that her sports skills were very useful in filming. You can say this was a big impetus in her career. Later, in the early 80s, people remembered her from the film "And Another Night of Scheherazade" - where she played the stunning role of an oriental beauty. Creativity went uphill. She starred in the films "Find a Horseshoe for Luck", the comedy "Chance", "Alien", the drama "When the Echoes Respond".
Directing
After working as an actress for some time, Elena faced problems in the cinema. She could not understand why everyone's thoughts are gifted, phenomenal, and as a result, a good film does not come out. Or, on the contrary, if the directors chose “no” script, the film turned out to be a success. It was this factor that helped her learn directing skills. At her own request, she enters the cinematographic institute. In 1990, she directed her first film, One Evening, from her script.
Elena Konstantinovna finishes her studies at the Institute of Cinematography only by 1992. Then in 1994 her second film was released - "I won't let you go anywhere." Two films make a serious impression, thus, the viewer thinks about the meaning of life.
Way to God
She found faith in God already in adulthood. Developing step by step through her career, first as a Geologist, then as an Actress, and then as a Director in general, she began to understand that a person should be kinder, nicer, more tolerant. A deep philosophical attitude to life led Tonunts to the moment of baptism in an Orthodox church. The creative personality gave way to the Christian ministry in the soul of the actress.
