The beauty of these transparent eyes and chiseled face is amazing …

Sophia Pilyavskaya was born in 1911 in the family of a Polish nobleman, by the will of fate brought into the distant snowy Krasnoyarsk. The father of the future Moscow Art Theater actress supported revolutionary ideas and took practical part in the change of power in 1017. Subsequently, he becomes an influential party official and settles with his family in Moscow. Stanislav Pilyawsky's wife, a noble Polish lady, insisted that the girl be baptized according to Catholic rules and in 1919, according to the Polish rite, she received a triple name - Sofia Adelaide Antoinette.

Happy childhood years

Sophia Stanislavovna's childhood was not overshadowed, the girl was very talented and during her school years she was busy preparing for theatrical activities. After all, it was for this career that she received a blessing from Konstantin Stanislavsky himself. The family lived in the very center of Moscow, and the house was often visited not only by the Bolsheviks, but also by theatrical figures, including the great Stanislavsky, the founder of the Moscow Art Theater.

Still quite a child, but already the director and actress Sofya Stanislavovna Pilyavskaya taught the role. Theatrical performances took up all their free time and school was in the background. In 1928, the fate of the future actress was decided - she was accepted into her studio by Stanislavsky's sister, Zinaida Sergeevna Sokolova. However, the path to the theater studio was thorny, because Sophia spoke with a strong Polish accent, which became the main obstacle in this matter. Sokolova refused the girl after the first audition. However, the strong character of Pilyavskaya prevailed over the circumstances. After a year of persistent studies, she again came to the exam and was admitted to the famous theater class.

Theatrical biography

The Studio of the Art Theater was fateful for Sofia Pilyavskaya not only in terms of creativity. Here she met the love of her life - Nikolai Dorokhin. The husband was an artist of the Moscow Art Theater. The personal life of the actress developed - work, creativity and love spoiled her. However, the repressions of the 30s did not pass by the family. Pilyavskaya's father was arrested as an enemy of the people and the fate of the actress hung in the balance. Only thanks to the authoritative intervention of Konstantin Sergeevich Stanislavsky, the young and talented beauty retained her place in the theater.

During the war with the Nazis, the theater was evacuated from Moscow to Saratov. As part of the visiting brigade, Sofya Pilyavskaya, together with her husband Nikolai Dorokhin, performed on an impromptu theatrical stage for the soldiers of the Western Front.

Life full of events and meetings, extensive theatrical experience allowed the actress to take up teaching activities. In 1954, she entered the service as a teacher at the Nemirovich-Danchenko Studio School, where the future stars of the Sovremennik Theater studied. Pilyavskaya did not leave her activity as a theater actress until 2000, until the day of her death on January 21.

The remarkable actress was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery. Next to her lies her husband's ashes.
