From the biography of Igor Nikolaevich Slutsky
The future singer and composer was born in the city of Aleksandrovsk-Sakhalinsky, on the island of Sakhalin, on June 17, 1967. A few years later, the Slutsky family moved to Ukraine, to Mariupol, where the parents of Igor's mother lived. The future composer spent his childhood and youth here. Igor's father is a sixth grade bricklayer, now retired. Since childhood, he played the guitar and button accordion well. Mom taught at a trade school. She passed away in 1989.
Igor recalls that Tariverdiev's music for the film "Seventeen Moments of Spring" became a kind of impetus for his creative pursuits. He often tried to select his favorite melodies on the piano. And very often he came up with something of his own. Igor's cousins on the mother's side were also related to music: they taught at a music school.
First steps in your career
Igor graduated from a music school in Mariupol. He spent a lot of time and effort mastering the bassoon. Even at the Mariupol Music School, Slutsky and his friends created an instrumental ensemble, where Igor got the role of keyboard player. Participation in amateur performances was a good school of skill for the future composer and helped to develop the necessary skills.
When the time came, Slutsky went to serve in the army. He served in the Far East as a musician in a military orchestra.
Since 1990, Igor has settled in Moscow. In the capital, at first, he wanted to plunge headlong into business. However, love for musical creativity prevailed over pragmatism.
For some time, Slutsky worked as a musician and arranger in the musical groups of Vika Tsyganova, Sergei Chumakov, Tatiana Ovsienko. Later he concentrated on his own work, continuing to collaborate with famous performers and entire musical groups.
Igor Slutsky is happy in his family life. He has three children - two sons and a daughter.
Creativity of Igor Slutsky
Slutsky tried to write songs already in his childhood. Over the years, while the musician honed his skills, he created more than two hundred compositions. Among them - "North Wind", "Kalina Krasnaya", "Only Love" from the repertoire of Vika Tsyganova; "White Ash" performed by A. Marshal. Poseni Slutsky in different years was also performed by M. Krug, A. Buinov, T. Ovsienko, N. Baskov, A. Kalyanov, A. Domogarov and many others.
In 2004, Slutsky became a laureate of the Chanson of the Year award (nominated for the Best Composer of the Year). He regularly participates in television programs that cover musical topics. He can be seen on various Russian TV channels. Igor's songs have repeatedly hit the top of the charts of popular radio stations in large cities of the country.
