Nikolai Anatolyevich Gorokhov is one of the prominent figures in modern Russian theater, People's Artist of Russia, head of the Vladimir theater school-studio, deputy and confidant of the president.
Biography
An ordinary rural Orthodox priest had seven children, one daughter and six sons. In December 1937, he was shot, his sons went to the front, where everyone but the youngest died, and the daughter was left to herself. In 1950, she, the “daughter of an enemy of the people,” living in a cramped communal apartment in Kursk, had a son named Kolya. The boy had a difficult childhood filled with hardships and hardships. But his mother gave him the most important lesson in life - you need to work hard and study, and this is the only way to make your dreams come true.
While still at school, Nikolai Gorokhov wrote poems that were published in the magazine "Youth" and dreamed of a piano. Unfortunately, the family could not afford to buy an expensive instrument. While studying at a physics and mathematics school, Kolya managed to enter a music school, attended the Kursk Youth Theater (then it was called the Rovesnik studio). And at the same time he worked part-time at a local bakery to help his mother.
It was at that time that the future famous artist found love for life - the theater and the beautiful Nadezhda, who became his muse and faithful companion. In 1970, Nikolai went to Moscow, where he graduated from the Moscow Art Theater. In 1974, student Gorokhov appeared on the screen in a cameo role. It was a wonderful Soviet film about the oilmen O. Vorontsov "The Northern Option". And then he served in the army and went to work at the Ivanovo Drama Theater.
Career
By the time they moved to Ivanovo, Nikolai and his wife Nadezhda had already had a daughter. He, a certified artist, was vied with each other to be invited to various theaters of the country, but the choice fell on Ivanovo - they offered an apartment there. He appeared on stage for two seasons, mostly playing the main roles. And then, in March 1978, he moved to Vladimir, to one of the best Russian drama theaters. Lunacharsky.
This city fell in love with Gorokhov, a deeply religious person, for its "prayer", history, Orthodox traditions and beauty. A successful career, a quiet personal life, favorite business, family and city - here Gorokhov found himself once and for all.
On stage, he transformed into Salieri in Little Tragedies, Godunov in Troubles after A. Tolstov, King Lear, Professor Preobrazhensky and even Panikovsky - the multifaceted talent of a theatrical artist allowed him to perform in many roles, and his performances were always accompanied by a resounding success.
Since 1984, politics has appeared in Gorokhov's life. He was elected a local deputy three times, became the head of the Vladimir Union of Theater-goers, created an experimental acting studio on the basis of the theater, which still functions today, was actively involved in teaching at the Vladimir Humanitarian University.
In 1989, Nikolai for the second (and last) time appeared on the screens of cinemas, in the life drama of M. Vedyshev "Who should live in Russia …". Gorokhov has many prizes and awards, including state ones.
Present time
In the early 2000s, Nikolai and his wife traveled to the holy lands for a Christian, visited Jerusalem and Nazareth. Lives in Vladimir, helps her daughter to raise her grandchildren, continues her teaching activities, and believes that culture is, first of all, hard work, and not just “naked talents”. An artist should educate the audience, and not indulge instincts, says Gorokhov, and notes with bitterness that today the latter is happening more and more often.
