Biography

Anatoly Sergeevich Gorokhov was born on April 7, 1938 in Kalinin (now Tver). Anatoly's parents were educated and intelligent people. His father worked in the chemical industry and served as a factory director. Anatoly's mother worked at a weaving factory as an engineer. The Gorokhov family had four children. Anatoly was the youngest child.

From childhood he loved to sing. Anatoly listened to popular singers singing on the radio and sang along with them. The boy had an ear for music and easily memorized songs.

Anatoly was three years old when the Great Patriotic War began. The first performance of the future singer took place in childhood. He sang the song "Eh, Roads" in front of the Soviet officers who went through Kalinin to liberate Koenigsberg. At the age of six, the boy showed a poetic gift, he wrote a New Year's poem.

Anatoly Gorokhov studied well at school. Studying was easy for him, and he had free time to study in various circles. Anatoly's interests were very diverse. In addition to his passion for singing, he attended the boxing section. He also enjoyed designing. The young man managed to make a diving apparatus.

After graduating from high school in Kalinin, Gorokhov decided to enter the Moscow Higher Technical School. N. E. Bauman. He successfully passed the exams, but he was not interested in studying there. Anatoly sang with pleasure for his friends at student parties. One of Gorokhov's acquaintances, hearing him singing, insisted on Anatoly's admission to the Moscow Conservatory.

Having withstood a huge competition, which was 170 people per seat, Anatoly Gorokhov became a student of the vocal department of the Moscow Conservatory. The young man had an amazing timbre of voice, which was noted by his teachers of vocal art. A wide range of voices - from tenor to bass, allowed Anatoly to perform both opera and pop works.

Gorokhov continued to write poetry, but did not dare to publish them. In the conservatory's wall newspaper, he published his poems under the pseudonym Volgin.

After graduating from the conservatory, Anatoly began to work as a vocalist. Numerous concerts and a busy touring schedule negatively affected the singer's vocal cords. To keep his voice, Gorokhov had to leave his career as a vocalist for a while.

He began working at the All-Union Radio as an editor. Anatoly Sergeevich took up his new job with great enthusiasm. The musical program Do-re-mi-fa-sol, which aired on the radio in the 60s – 70s of the last century, was very popular with Soviet listeners. Later, the program "After Midnight" appeared for those who do not sleep. Lyric songs and musical and poetic compositions sounded in it, which contributed to the rest of people after a working day.

On the radio, Anatoly Gorokhov met Muslim Magomayev. The young people immediately became friends, because they had a lot in common. They both loved works of Russian and Italian opera, they liked the same pop songs.

In each radio program "Do-re-mi-fa-sol" Anatoly Gorokhov included a song performed by Muslim Magomayev. Grateful listeners wrote letters on the radio that on Sundays, on the day the program was broadcast, they were looking forward to their favorite singer.

The modern song genre raises many complaints from Anatoly Sergeevich. He is saddened by the lack of poetry in the songs of today. In his opinion, now an immoral and unspiritual attitude to life is being promoted from television and radio screens. Anatoly Gorokhov is going to write his memoirs about this and his creative path.
