Viktor Tsoi himself, the leader of the Kino group, was very fond of celebrating his birthdays with friends. Fans of the legendary rock musician, keeping this in mind, decided to celebrate his failed 50th anniversary on a grand scale. In addition to concerts dedicated to the memory of Tsoi, a number of different events took place.
The memory of Viktor Tsoi was honored in many cities of Russia and even in other countries. Many events were held in St. Petersburg: fans of the "Kino" group visited the boiler room where Tsoi worked, and also organized a number of concerts during which his songs were performed. Russian and foreign rock bands performed in clubs and parks, and an exhibition opened on Malaya Sadovaya, where Tsoi's photographs taken in the last year of his life were presented. Not far from the cemetery, where Victor was buried, there was a concert "Try to sing with me."
In Moscow, concerts were also held in several locations. Tsoi's songs were performed by groups from Russia, America, France, etc. In particular, in the B2 club, within the framework of the traditional Kinomania festival, musicians performed, each of whom performed at least one song of the Kino group. The American group Brazzaville performed at the Milk club, performing cover versions of Tsoi's songs.
The grandiose concert "Tsoi is alive!", Dedicated to the memory of the legendary rock musician, took place in Yekaterinburg. It was there that many popular groups decided to perform, including "U-Peter", "Alisa", "Picnic", "The King and the Fool", "Pilot". Evenings in memory of Tsoi were held in many other cities. In Zaporozhye, popular Ukrainian vocalists performed the songs of the Kino group in a rock club, and in Barnaul, a concert was held near the Tsoi monument. A concert was held in the Khabarovsk rock club, and later a thematic apartment house was organized in this city. Radio Vostok Rossii broadcast a program dedicated to the work of Viktor Tsoi.
Events in honor of the 50th anniversary of the leader of "Kino" were also held in several other countries. In particular, a major concert took place in the city of Almaty, during which 10 groups offered the listeners their cover versions of famous songs, and then the film "Needle" was shown, in which Tsoi played the main role. And, finally, the fans of the star were shown excerpts from the video recordings of the concerts of the "Kino" group.
