Films directed by Tatiana Lioznova are distinguished by their authenticity, brightness and shrillness. The films that have become national classics of the genre were shot by a fragile woman with a steel character, who was called the Iron Lady of Soviet cinema.
Before leaving for the front, Tatyana Mikhailovna's father allowed her to do what her soul lies in. That is why my mother did not oppose her daughter's decision to leave her studies at the Aviation Institute and enter the directing department of VGIK.
The path to the vocation
The biography of the future celebrity began in 1924. The child was born in Moscow on July 20 in the family of an engineer-economist and a seamstress.
After school, the graduate entered the Aviation Institute. The girl was disappointed in her choice after the first semester. She came to the directing department of VGIK in 1943. She studied Lioznova on the course with Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova.
After the first year, it was decided to expel the student. Tatiana showed iron restraint, insisting on the cancellation of the verdict. She showed the commission her work. The mentors were impressed by the student's mature approach and directorial outlook.
The first independent work was in 1858 "Memory of the Heart" according to the script by Makarova and Gerasimov. The film "Evdokia" was filmed in 1961. The heroic theme continued in the project "They Subdue the Sky".
Success
At the International Festival of Aviation and Space Films in Deauville, France, the film received the Golden Wing, first prize. The premiere of the film Three Poplars on Plyushchikha took place in 1967. A year later, Lioznova's work was highly appreciated at the International Film Festival in South America.
In 1973, the shooting of "Seventeen Moments of Spring", the main masterpiece of Tatiana Mikhailovna, was completed. After the premiere screening of the film, the director took a break for 6 years. She taught at VGIK, headed an acting studio with Lev Kulidzhanov.
Creative activity continued in 1980 with a two-part film "We, the undersigned." Despite the fact that a performance of the same name has already been staged based on the work of Gelman, which was successfully staged at the Moscow Art Theater, the director managed to demonstrate his approach to the topic.
In 1981 Lioznova directed the melodrama Carnival. The director called it, in a sense, an autobiography. The main character reminded her of herself in her youth with sincerity and spontaneity.

Work on the three-part project "The End of the World with the Subsequent Symposium" was completed in 1986, but the tape, which was released only in 1987, was no longer released.
Tatiana Mikhailovna's personal life was replaced by work. The director called her films the children that cost her her whole life. Her admirers included the writer Konstantin Simonov, the physicist Vladimir Kirillin, and the actor Archil Gomiashvili. After the death of a friend, pilot Vasily Kalashenko, Lioznova became the adoptive mother of his daughter Lyudmila.
