The American historical series "Spartacus" first appeared on screens in the winter of 2010 and instantly won the love of the audience with its naturalism and battle bloody scenes. Description of the plot of the television series

The series takes place during the allied military campaigns of the Roman troops and Thracian tribes against the Getae. The ambition and persuasion of the wife of the Roman legate Gaius Claudius Glabra prompts the man to break the treaty with the Thracians, sending his troops to fight the king Mithridates. The Thracians responded by leaving the battlefield and returning home to defend families from the Geth. The enraged legate declares them deserters and takes their leader Spartacus prisoner, making him and his young wife slaves. Shackled Spartacus goes to Capua, and the Thracian's wife Glabr is sold to a slave trader from Syria.

Many critics criticize the TV series "Spartacus" for excessive cruelty, aggressiveness and natural scenes of violence.

Spartacus is sent to the arena, where he must die, but he suddenly defeats opponents and is bought by the owner of the gladiatorial school Quintus Lentulius Batiatus. In Batiatus Ludus, Spartacus gains new friends and enemies, as well as a reputation as an unpredictable rebel. His main goal is the return of his wife - so Spartak has to step over all his principles and turn into an obedient killing machine. As a result, Batiatus nevertheless ransoms his wife, but the woman is brought to Spartacus half-dead. After her death, the Thracian decides to take revenge on the people who turned his life into hell.

Real cinematic fantasy

Today the series "Spartacus" is one of the most spectacular and dramatic works, telling about the life of the most famous slave. The historical reality of the events taking place in the series, of course, can be discussed, but the filmmakers allowed viewers to see the life of Spartacus and his struggle for freedom to the smallest detail.

In total, four seasons were filmed - "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" (2010), "Spartacus: Gods of the Arena" (2011), "Spartacus: Revenge" (2012) and "Spartacus: War of the Damned" (2013).

However, the dramatic component is not only in the series - the leading role, actor Andy Whitfield, after the end of the first season, learned about his cancer. Despite the fact that everyone was sure of Andy's recovery, the actor could not cope with the disease and died. Spartak's place in the following seasons was taken by Australian Liam McIntyre, who is very similar to the late Whitfield. The rest of the actors played to the end, brilliantly recreating the magnificent and monstrous world of the Roman Empire, based on blood, violence and betrayal.
