The historical and cultural heritage of any state is not something "long past and forgotten": it is food for the mind, the experience of previous generations and, most importantly, the reasons why today looks like this. After all, life did not arise out of nowhere - it has systematically developed over the years, which today constitute the "legacy" of the nation.
Instructions
Step 1
Any culture requires protection and preservation. “Nationality” is formed from the realization that a person belongs to some kind of force, to a society of people, which is of value: every young person is obliged to understand the greatness of his nation. The legacy in this context is all talented people who have ever lived in a given country, all politicians, all victories and all imperishable masterpieces created by “relatives” - fellow countrymen. If someday a nation forgets about all the influence it has had on the world, it will simply cease to be a nation. It is difficult for a specific person to influence the preservation of values, this should be done by the state (to create support funds, museums, libraries and narrowly focused institutions), but the very fact that every citizen will know and study the heritage of his homeland is already a great achievement.
Step 2
It is important to analyze the legacy carefully. In particular, this concerns the history of the state: it is the experience of previous generations; mistakes that modern people should learn from. The simplest example is World War II. It turned out to be a monstrous result of the selfishness of many states and led to irreparable consequences. However, as long as the population of the Earth remembers what happened, it will not allow a repetition of such a situation. On the other hand, it is worth "deleting" an event from people's memory, as it immediately risks becoming a reality again. In addition, the analysis of history allows you to learn to see the cause and effect in each event, which is especially important: after all, then people will be able to perceive today as the direct cause of tomorrow, and this will strengthen the consciousness of each individual person. The best analytic method available to every person is to search for errors of historical persons. For example, form an opinion about what drove the Soviet Union to collapse and who should have behaved differently to avoid it.
Step 3
The most important thing is to spread information about the culture and history of the nation. Modern society is built in such a way that information may well exist and be in demand by only a few people on the planet. Therefore, it is very important that residents of any state receive information about the past of their country. Moreover, "open access" in this case is not enough: not everyone is interested in issues of this kind on their own. That is why school curricula should be based on cultural heritage - so that students from early childhood (albeit not on their own initiative) know about everything that is great about the people to whom they belong. To spread ideas, it is worth organizing exhibitions and festivals of folk culture; celebrations on national holidays; conduct class hours in schools and universities, and for older people - public lectures, possibly on the streets of the city.
