Karolina Herfurt is a German film and television actress, screenwriter, director and producer. She began her film career in 1995. She is best known for her roles in the films The Reader, Perfume: The Story of a Murder, Taste of the Night, The Little Witch.
Herfurt's creative biography includes about forty roles in television and film projects. She is the recipient of the Bayerischer Filmpreis Award for Excellence in Cinematography and the Best Young Actress award from the Society of German Film Critics.

The girl was born in the spring of 1984 in Germany. She knows practically nothing about her father. Parents divorced when she was only two years old. Caroline's mom worked as a psychologist. Later she got married a second time. It is not known who the girl's adoptive father was. Caroline has five half-siblings.
From an early age, Carolina was fond of acrobatics and dancing, studied at a choreographic studio. The girl also performed as a member of the children's circus team. It was there that she was first noticed by representatives of television and offered a small role in the children's project "Holidays on the Other Side of the Moon". So in 1995, Carolina began acquaintance with cinema, filming and acting.
Caroline studied at the Rudolf-Steiner-Schule Berlin-Dahlem Waldorf School. Then she continued her education at the Drama School "Ernst Busch". After that she studied at the Humboldt University of Berlin.
Film career
Carolina came to the cinema in 2000. She played her first role in the drama film Crazy. The tape told the story of a disabled teenager Benjamin, who is transferred from one school to another, hoping to pass mathematics exams and continue his studies. In the end, he ends up in a specialized boarding school in Bavaria, where for the first time he finds real friends who are ready to come to his aid.
Carolina got the next role in the television film-fairy tale "The Frog King". A girl named Anna rescues a frog who is being bullied by her younger brother. Hiding with the frog from the persecution, the girl remembers the fairy tale "The Frog Prince", she kisses the frog and from that moment miracles begin to happen.
Herfurt played one of the main roles in the comedy Girls Above and in its sequel Girls Above Again, which tells about the adventures of three friends before the prom.
Another leading role went to Caroline in the film Big Girls Don't Cry, which tells the story of two friends: Katya, girls from a poor family, and Steffi, the daughter of a successful liberal. One day they see Steffi's father meeting another woman. The girls decide to take revenge on him. To do this, they get to know the daughter of this woman and drag her into a not very beautiful story. Revenge turns into events that endangered the friendship of Katya and Steffi.
In 2006, Herfurt received an invitation to shoot the famous film "Perfume: The Story of a Murder." She played the role of the Plum Girl in it.
Another notable work in Carolina's career was her role in the drama The Reader. The film told the story of an aging lawyer Michael Berg. For many years he remembers his past and thinks that he could once completely change his life and destiny.
