In 1970, the younger Guzman graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages in Baku, three years later - from the Higher Party School. After that, Mikhail Gusman worked for more than ten years in the Committee of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan, then headed the press center of the Committee of Youth Organizations of the Soviet Union.

Mikhail Gusman about himself

Guzman not only enjoys interviewing. Sometimes he himself talks about his family and life.

Gusman's great-grandfather lived for a long time in Ukraine, where he had his own mill near Yenikayev. In the 19th century, an oil boom began in the world. Part of my grandfather's large family went to make money in Baku, then the center of the Russian oil industry.

Mikhail Solomonovich maintains a close relationship with his older brother Julius. Both Guzmans have an excellent sense of humor and self-irony. Mikhail considers himself not an official, not a journalist or an internationalist, but a historical optimist.

Mikhail calls himself a late child - when he was born, his father was 46 years old. Mikhail considers his mother a woman of amazing mind and talent. She was well versed in English philology. She chose linguistics for herself after meeting with her future husband. To do this, she had to abandon her theatrical career.

The mother of Mikhail and Yulia raised a whole layer in linguistics: her doctoral dissertation was devoted to the problem of bilingualism, which was new for its time. From her, apparently, the love for foreign languages was passed on to Mikhail.
