The library's rules of conduct are not limited to the requirement for silence. Before going to the library, remember a few more tips that will help you spend time productively, for your own benefit and without harm to others.

Before your first visit, visit the library website. Write down for yourself the opening hours, information about weekends and cleaning days. Usually on the site you can find information about the terms of service, including paid ones. So you can find out in advance which rooms of the library you will need to go to and what kind of help you can count on.

When you come to the library, leave your outerwear in the wardrobe. Even if you dropped by for a couple of minutes to turn in a book, you must observe this rule of decency. If you have bulky bags and bags with you, leave them in the storage boxes. Superfluous things will bother you, and the rustling of packages can distract and annoy other visitors.
Step 3
If you ask a librarian for help, speak in a low voice to avoid distracting others. Since many in the library are not just reading for fun but working, they need to focus. Any extraneous sounds can confuse you.
Step 4
You can read the book or periodical you are interested in in the reading room of the library. At the same time, do not crease or fold the pages, do not underline anything in the text, even with a simple pencil. Look through old, dilapidated editions with extreme caution, without rushing. Do not photograph parts of the book. If you need a piece of text or an illustration, you can scan or photocopy the document for an additional fee. A library employee will help you with this.

When working in the reading room, turn off your phone or put it in silent mode. If you get a call, even for a short conversation, go out into the corridor. It is also undesirable to talk in the library without the help of the phone. If you are going there with a friend or colleague, discuss all the issues along the way. In addition, many libraries have lounges equipped with sofas, cafes - you can always take a break and talk there.
Step 6
If you feel like grabbing a bite to eat, do not feed your hunger without leaving your book. As a rule, you can eat and drink in libraries only on the territory of the buffets.

If possible, do not take small children with you to the library. While you are working with the book, the baby will get bored and will probably begin to entertain himself, disturbing others. True, some libraries have children's rooms. There you can leave your child under the supervision of experienced teachers and in a company with other children.
