The Russian State Library is often called Lenin or simply "Lenin". The funds of the main library of the country have collected more than 43 million books, periodicals, maps, notes, dissertations and electronic documents. They can be used by every citizen of Russia who has reached the age of majority. To record, you must personally come to the Lenin Library.
Instructions
Step 1
Contact the Reception and Recording Group of the Readers of the Russian State Library. Residents of the capital region can immediately visit the library in Moscow (Vozdvizhenka st., 3/5) or in Khimki (Bibliotechnaya st., 15). It is more convenient for nonresident Russians to call in advance to clarify all the details they are interested in: (495) 695-57-90 or (495) 570-05-55.
Step 2
The right to use the library funds on a permanent basis is granted to citizens who have received a personalized library card with a photograph. Such a ticket is a plastic card made by the library staff at the time of the reader's appointment. The visitor is photographed here. The cost of a library card is determined by the current price list.
Step 3
When you visit the Lenin Library for the first time, please present the documents listed below to the staff who are enrolling new readers. Be sure to make copies that you can leave for filing, if necessary.
Step 4
Visitors who wish to obtain a permanent library card and have a higher professional education must have the following documents with them:
- passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation or a document replacing it. Check for the presence in the passport of a mark of permanent or temporary registration (registration at the place of residence);
- a document proving the identity of foreign citizens. The original must be accompanied by a Russian translation certified by a notary. The document must contain a visa or OVIR registration. This requirement applies to residents of the CIS countries, the Baltic States and far abroad;
- diploma of graduation from a higher educational institution.
Step 5
Citizens who do not have a higher education must present only documents proving their identity and citizenship. Students instead of a diploma must provide a student card with a mark of the year of study and a record book.
Step 6
A one-time (one-time) visit to the Lenin Library is possible after obtaining a temporary library card. For its registration, it is enough to present a passport. Photo and diploma are not required. A temporary ticket entitles you to work with the library's catalogs and visit some of the reading rooms and specialized departments.
