The whole world knows him as the tyrant Joffrey from "Game of Thrones". In life, this is a completely different person. What does this mean? You can only say one thing: "What a talent!"
The actor with the surname Gleason, common in Ireland, is mistaken by many for the son of the famous Brendan Gleason, but they are just namesakes. After all, Brendan is from Dublin, and Jack is from the ancient Irish city of Cork, where he was born in 1992.
Jack's acting biography began very early - it seems that from an early age he already knew how to play different roles. His talent was so obvious that his parents considered it necessary to send him to the Independent Youth Theater. Here his professional creative life began. Jack grew up mobile, was very charming and talented, and soon became the best student of the theater school.
Jack passed almost all exams after graduating from the Independent Youth Theater, including the test in acting, exam in drama and stage speech. According to the test results, he scored more than 95% of the points.
After graduating from high school, Jack Gleeson entered Trinity College in Dublin, where he still studies. Because of this educational institution, he even gave up his film career.
Start
Jack began acting in films at the age of 10 - these were short films in 2002-2004 ("Day of Travel" and others). It turns out that even then every year the little actor was invited to some role. And in 2005 he starred in a full-length film about Batman, albeit in a cameo role as a boy. However, the atmosphere on the set was very real, and he could watch the work of great actors, and this is already a lot.
At the age of 18, there was the film "All the Good Children". Critics accepted this picture, and praised the young actor a lot: they wrote that Jack Gleason was "the great discovery of Irish cinema."
Tyrant in Game of Thrones
Already while working on the film "All the Good Children" Jack Gleeson was selected for the role of Prince Joffrey in the famous show "Game of Thrones". There is no need to say much about this role - enough that Jack made millions of viewers hate himself around the world. This is what is called real acting. For this role, Jack won the IGN Summer Movie Awards, a Audience Vote Award, for his portrayal of "Best Villain on Television."
Now Jack admits that it is very difficult for him to break out of the framework of this image, and how good it is that the life of his character ended very suddenly with the episode "The Lion and the Rose". And now the tyrant of Westeros died to the general joy of the audience, and Gleason threw off the burden of the villain - this vile trail from the tyrant Joffrey, when the audience associates the personality of the actor himself with one strong role.
Life is not like a movie
Game of Thrones producer Dan Weiss says the young actor is one of the friendliest and sweetest people he has ever met. Jack's colleagues agree with this statement, and the fans do not like him - he gives autographs with great readiness and always with a smile.
Personal life
This is a completely blank sheet in Jack's biography. Nothing is known either about his girlfriend or about his social media accounts, where one could get at least some information.
Fans know that he is still attending Trinity College, that he founded his theater studio, and that his 2016 New York premiere of his puppet show Bears in Space took place. He continues to work on this project now.
