Magomed Tolboyev is a man who made a significant contribution to the development of Russian aviation. For special services he was awarded the honorary title of Hero of the Russian Federation.
Childhood, adolescence and education
Tolboyev Magomed Omarovich was born on January 20, 1951. The place of his birth is the village of Sogratl, Guba region of the Republic of Dagestan. The future test pilot grew up in the most ordinary and not rich family. His father, Omar Magometovich, worked as a simple driver. Mom worked on a collective farm. Magomed is not the only child of his parents. He has a brother, Taigib, who also became popular and earned a high rank.
Magomed Tolboyev during his school years did not particularly stand out among his classmates, but even then he decided on his future profession and dreamed of flying into the sky. After leaving school, the future hero entered the flight school, but did not stop at the education he received. Magomed Omarovich was trained in the following institutions:
- Yeisk Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots (graduated in 1974);
- Moscow Aviation Institute (graduated in 1984);
- Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
Tolboyev received his Ph. D. in technical sciences. But Magomed Omarovich was always distinguished not only by his love for aviation, technology, but also remained a versatile person. He read a lot, led an active lifestyle. This prompted him to study other sciences. In Germany, he graduated from a school created to train party workers. In 1996, he wrote a dissertation on the problems in relations between the peoples of the North Caucasus. For his work, he received the title of candidate of historical sciences.
Career
Magomed Tolboev's career began in 1973. At this time, he began flying in the Bratislava Red Banner Aviation Regiment as a senior pilot. In the group of forces of the USSR, he led the parachute training, and then the future hero was sent on a business trip to Germany.
In 1977, Tolboyev was involved in flight test work, but after a while he was forced to retire. In 1984 Magomed Omarovich was appointed test cosmonaut of the Buran spacecraft. Subsequently, his career developed in this direction and he rose to the position of commander of a test squad. Since 2002, he has been a co-founder of Space Conversion Technologies LLC.
For his services, Tolboyev was awarded orders and medals more than once. Magomed Omarovich was awarded several awards:
- Hero of the Russian Federation (1992);
- Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1989);
- Order of Merit for the Republic of Dagestan (2011).
In the career of a test pilot, everything was always smooth. Tolboev had several emergency landings and one of them was very difficult. If it were not for the high professionalism of the pilot, everything could have ended tragically. But in such critical situations Magomed Omarovich showed his skills.
Political participation
The honored test pilot also actively participates in the political life of the country. In 1990, he put forward his candidacy for the People's Deputies of the RSFSR. But then he could not get the required number of votes. A little later, he was among those who defended the White House during the putsch.
Magomed Tolboyev took part in the election race and wanted to become the head of the Republic of Dagestan, but he was supported by only 40% of voters and he ended up in second place. In the periods from 1996 to 1998, the test pilot worked as a secretary in the Security Council of the Republic of Dagestan. In this post, he did a lot to prevent hostilities in Dagestan. In 1996, Tolboyev proposed his own concept for resolving the military conflict in Chechnya.
This man did a lot for the development of his native republic. In Dagestan he is highly regarded. Such an active life position deserves respect. Tolboyev acts as an expert in the analysis of emergency situations related to aviation and space. He more than once gave a professional assessment of the actions of the pilots during the crash of Russian and foreign aircraft.
