Olga Skabeeva was born on December 11, 1984 in the Volgograd region, the city of Volzhsky. She was an inquisitive child, differing from her peers in her adult judgments. The curriculum was easy for the girl. In her senior year, she already knew for sure that she would become a journalist. Therefore, I spent all my efforts on studying the information necessary for admission to an educational institution. Even at one time she practiced writing articles for a local newspaper.
Career growth
Olga moved to St. Petersburg, where she entered the university to study journalism. She studied with great desire and interest. Thanks to her talent and hard work, she graduated from an educational institution with honors, receiving a red diploma.
During her student years, Olga practiced in the "Vesti" program of the city of St. Petersburg. She was awarded several honorary awards, one of them - "Golden Pen".
After a while, the girl moved to Moscow, where she became the host of the Vesti.doc project, which was broadcast on the Russia-1 TV channel. The program highlights the investigations of journalists, holds discussions with various figures. Olga is called a puppet of the incumbent president, as she vehemently supports his policies and constantly criticizes the opposition.
In 2016, the journalist conducted an interview with Hayo Zeppelt. The German released a tape in which he claimed that Russian athletes use doping. Because of this, there was a threat of the national team being removed from the 2016 Olympics. During the interview, the journalist asked for evidence of her accusations. The answer to which was the request to leave the Zeppelt house. In the future, Hayo justified himself by the fact that he did not make such statements because of a bad attitude towards Russia and its athletes. According to him, similar investigations were carried out in other countries.
In 2016, Olga, together with Evgeny Popov, became the hosts of the 60 Minutes project. Discussion talk shows select and highlight particularly sensitive topics. The peculiarity of the journalist is that she presented information in a strict form, having her own opinion on everything. But at the same time, a woman always has arguments why it is so, and not otherwise.
Personal life
Skabeeva found female happiness with her colleague Yevgeny Popov. They decided to get married in New York. True, the celebration had to be postponed several times due to urgent work.
In 2014, the couple of journalists had a son, Zakhar. The Vesti team congratulated Olga on the new addition to the family and wished her good health. Eugene at that time was in Kiev, where hot events were developing. But this did not prevent him from coming to the discharge of his wife with the child from the hospital.
For some time, the baby lived with Olga's mother in the Volgograd region, as the couple had a lot of work. But after a short period, Zakhar returned to his parents again. Olga and Eugene devote all their free time to their son. In 2017, they visited the program "The Fate of a Man", where they lifted the curtain of their biography.
