Family, early years
Alexander Yuryevich was born on January 3, 1958, place of birth - Leningrad. His father was a minder on a ship, his mother worked in a factory. The boy began to show independence early, did household chores when his parents were at work.
Mother was proud of Sasha, he was not only a good housekeeper, but also studied well. As a child, he dreamed of exploring the depths of the sea, like Cousteau. Later, Polovtsev became interested in theater, which his mother did not like. However, later she saw her son in one of the productions and stopped interfering with his hobby.
After school, Alexander tried to get into a theater university, but unsuccessfully. Then he began his studies at a technical school, where he studied marine instrumentation, but after the 1st year he left the educational institution and again tried to enter the theater. The second attempt was successful, Polovtsev got on the course of Vladimir Petrov. Alexander received his diploma as an actor in 1980.
Creative career
After the army, Polovtsev began to work at the Vremya theater. At first, he played fairy-tale characters, then they began to give him serious roles. Then the actor got on "Lenfilm", his film debut was the film "It" (1989). Then he starred in the films "Sideburns", "Barabaniada".
In the film "Sideburns" Polovtsev played a policeman for the first time. After that, in 1997, he was offered a role in the project "Streets of Broken Lanterns", where his colleagues Alexander Rykov and Sergey Selin also starred.
The series quickly gained high ratings, the actors became stars. On the street, the "cops" were immediately surrounded by a crowd of fans. Polovtsev also starred in the movie "Deadly Power", which also became successful. In 2004, Alexander was given a role in the movie "The Irresistible Chizhov", "Own". The first wife of Alexander Yuryevich was Gudova Galina, a classmate at the university. The marriage lasted 3 years. For the second time, the actor married Sobolevskaya Yulia. She became a director, was engaged in a production business. A son Stepan appeared in the marriage.
Alexander lived with Sobolevskaya for 25 years, but then he met a new love - Muratova Esan. For her sake, he divorced Julia. In 2015, Alexander and Esana got married. In 2016, they had a son, Andrei, and in 2017, a daughter, Yana.
