Biography
Yan Tsapnik was born in Irkutsk in 1968. He was brought up in the family of a theater actor and a professional athlete. The future actor first appeared on the stage at the age of seven, having played in the play "We Don't Change the Fatherland." Jan was a rather gifted child and, in addition to theatrical art, was fond of music and sports. He also knew how to cook well and even moonlighted as a cook.
After graduating from school, Tsapnik decided to get a higher theater education in Moscow, but did not make it to the entrance exams due to illness. Then he applied to the Sverdlovsk Theater Institute and was successfully enrolled in it. In his student years, the young artist was already actively touring the country with a theater troupe, and once he was invited to star in the melodrama "Looking for a friend of life" directed by Mikhail Ershov.
Not having reached the end of his studies, Yan Yuryevich went to serve in the airborne troops and subsequently moved to Leningrad, enrolling in the Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. He successfully graduated from it in 1992 and got a job at the theater named after G. A. Tovstonogov. Also, the aspiring actor played small roles in the film "Hello, Fools!", The TV series "Streets of Broken Lanterns" and several other projects.
Tsapnik's popularity began in 2002, when he played the role of the “new Russian” Artur Lapshin in the cult series “Brigade”. The actor improvised a lot, thanks to which the image turned out to be very lively and memorable. This was followed by roles in the projects "Gangster Petersburg", "Under the shower of bullets" and "Witchcraft love". This is how Yang became a sought-after television actor.
A new round of popularity began in 2013, when Yan Tsapnik was invited to one of the main roles in the comedy "Bitter!" Already quite an old actor perfectly played the stepfather of the bride. A year later, roles in other major projects followed: the New Year's almanac "Yolki", the TV series "Fizruk", "Method" and, of course, the sequel to "Bitter!"
Personal life
Jan Tsapnik was married three times. Almost nothing is known about the first two wives, perhaps because these unions were unsuccessful. In 1998, the actor met Galina, a Kalmyk by nationality. They played a wedding and today they live in a happy marriage, raising their daughter Lisa.
In 2016, Tsapnik played in the series War Correspondent, which touches upon the topic of Ukrainian political conflicts. Because of this, the Security Service of Ukraine banned the actor from entering the country for five years. Ian did not scandal about this and said that he was quite good here. Today he continues to actively act in films and recently played one of the main roles in the mystical trilogy "Gogol".
