The uncompromising idol of millions, Vladimir Vysotsky, did not reconcile with the authorities even after his death. The place of his burial is shrouded in secrets and legends, until now fans and admirers of the outstanding talent of the singer and actor leave flowers at the tombstone.
Legendary burial place of a legendary personality
It is well known that the remains of the singer and actor rest at the Vagankovskoye cemetery in Moscow, not far from the Kremlin. In the most honorable place, among the representatives of the nomenklatura and celebrities of that time. Not far from the main entrance, on the right. Now this fact will not surprise anyone. But at that time, at the request of the Moscow City Council, Vladimir Vysotsky had to end his journey in the most remote and abandoned corner, far from human eyes. Thanks to the cemetery director, the "punishment" was avoided. Ustinsky O. M. sacrificed a prestigious position in order to adequately bury and honor the memory of his beloved singer.
For the sake of the authorities and to avoid unnecessary publicity, two graves were dug on the eve of the funeral. It was only by a miracle that it was possible to achieve burial on a worthy site. The site planned by the authorities was disguised as abandoned, unsuitable for exploitation.
Parting
The authorities could not hide the news of the death of Vladimir Semenovich from his fans. The modest sign "Actor Vysotsky has died" on the box office window of the theater became a sensation.
On the day of his death, Vladimir Vysotsky was supposed to play a play. The theater expected the audience to return tickets for the failed action, but not a single ticket was returned.
On July 28, 1980, the stadiums were left half-empty, the Olympic Games were forgotten. The funeral of Vysotsky was equated with the tsar's burial. The line of those wishing to say goodbye ended near the Kremlin. By the way, the caretaker of the cemetery, choosing a site, foresaw that if the idol is buried somewhere in the opposite corner, "the people will grind the whole cemetery."
According to unverified data, Vysotsky's grave was "released" only in 1979. Leaving for Kaluga, the old mother decided to take the remains of her son with her. It is surprising that the vacant place was empty for almost a year, although at that time each site was worth its weight in gold.
Immortalization
Throughout the country, dozens of monuments and commemorative plaques have been installed for the beloved singer, bard, and poet, 2 commemorative medals and even 4 coins have been issued.
To honor the memory of Vladimir, a tombstone design competition was announced. In 1985, a realistic sculpture depicting the great poet in full growth was installed on the grave of V. Vysotsky. The smallest details are displayed, right down to the mole on the cheek. Vladimir is shrouded in a veil and gazes into the distance. The monument was created by the architect Alexander Rukavishnikov. The dates of birth and death are engraved on the pedestal. Until now, fresh flowers from grateful descendants to the immortal creator appear at the grave every day.
