The problem of tobacco smoking is becoming a priority in modern society, thanks not only to its medical aspect, but also, first of all, ethical. After all, we must honestly admit that the "Western" format of resolving this issue has not brought the expected result to date.
Perhaps, where our country lags behind Western democracy for sure is in a healthy lifestyle. It would seem that the “eternal values” associated with spiritual development have been lost there irretrievably, since the “consumer society” takes its roots from there, but the “golden billion” dealt with the so-called bad habits quickly and concisely.
And what is the point they themselves did not understand well. After all, all these endless "works" about the dangers of smoking, for example, and powerful ideological propaganda, actively exploiting the image of a successful businessman, would have remained in the category of "bubbles in water" if not for ….
And so, all in order. Any smoker with experience clearly understands that moral (smoking is immoral!), Economic (smoking is expensive!) And medical (smoking is dangerous for health!) Aspects, which are traditionally referred to by all kinds of mass media, showing the world "global conclusions" and "imperishable works" all kinds of "geniuses" are exclusively commercial in nature. That is, the state cares about taxpayers and demography, business about super-profits, and society observes and "draws conclusions" about the futility of the intentions of both sides of the action.
And what about the carrier of the bad habit himself ?! Why do some give up their whole life, others do not even try, and only still others resolutely give up this occupation once and for all ?! The answer is both simple and difficult!
Let's apply the ONS principle (die, but do it!). Since you no longer need to agitate to quit smoking, because the benefits are obvious, then the whole thing is only in motivation. A person who has an addiction to tobacco smoking should clearly understand that nicotine addiction is identical to heroin addiction. And this means one thing - you can quit smoking only in one case! And this case is this: either you quit smoking - or you die! This can never be achieved half-heartedly.
It turns out that if a problem person has not achieved motivation, costing life itself, then it is not worth taking up the "feat of arms". After all, there is nothing worse for health (physiology and psyche) than these endless throwing back and forth.
But why was the notorious West able to throw off the shackles of dependence on smoking so effectively ?! The answer is simple again: society unconsciously ran into a "pain point" - pride! And flawlessly played this trump card, insisting on the movements of fashion. If a person smokes, then he is a loser and lagged behind life, but otherwise - he is in trend and claims to be a successful one.
Well, and since the mentality of a Russian is still not as selfish as that of Western colleagues, the model itself, taken in the form of a cast from their society, cannot work with the same efficiency as there. The generation of middle-aged and older people, and especially in the remote provinces, is not able to realize by their own example the national idea of a healthy lifestyle due to the fact that it is simply invulnerable to propaganda (the double standards of the Soviet era completely discouraged the desire to succumb to propaganda slogans).
Summarize. You should quit smoking only on the "once and for all" principle. Quitting smoking is necessary only when the determination to do so is comparable to the desire to live. By the way, this principle is also the basis for the immoral way of coding. But this problem should be solved at the level of the legislative branch, since the fraudulent aspect in this case is obvious.
