Michael Kenji "Mike" Shinoda is a renowned American vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist and artist-designer. One of the founders of the legendary rock band Linkin Park.
Biography
The future musician was born in February 1977 on the eleventh in the American city of Los Angeles. Michael grew up as a very talented child, he began to draw almost from the moment he could pick up a felt-tip pen. At family dinner, he usually ate faster than everyone else and began to be frankly bored at the end of the meal. Parents, in order to keep their son busy, gave him a pencil and he began to draw. He also began to study music very early, his mother enrolled the boy in a piano circle at the age of three.
At the age of 12, Shinoda had his first truly great success. He took part in a music competition where he presented his own piece of music and won the Grand Prix. The taste of victory was further enhanced by the fact that the rest of the participants were at least five years older than Michael. From the age of thirteen, he began to discover new genres in music. Shinoda became interested in blues, jazz and hip-hop.
Linkin Park
The history of the legendary team dates back to the nineties. During his school years, Shinoda became interested in playing the guitar and, together with his friend Brad Delson, began to record his own songs. Michael set up his room as a recording studio and the first recordings were made there. They were later joined by Rob Bourdon, who took his place at the drum set. The first variant of the name of the group: Xero. But it did not last long, less than a year later the question of renaming arose.
They decided to call the group Linkin Park, a slightly distorted name for "Lincoln Park". After the renaming, the collective seriously thought about high-quality, professional sound recording. The guys went to this for several years, the group's debut disc was released in 2000 and was named Hybrid theory. At that time, there were already popular bands performing hard rock, rap and hip-hop. And in Shinoda's team, everything was performed at the same time, such a turn of events was unexpected for the public, and the work of the young team was accepted rather restrainedly.
But after a few years, when the music market was flooded with very mediocre and very similar bands, Linkin Park became a real favorite among spoiled music lovers. To date, the team has seven numbered albums, the last of which appeared in 2017.
In January 2018, Mike showcased a project called Post Traumatic, consisting of three songs. This disc is notable for the fact that it is Shinoda's first independent project.
Personal life
The famous musician has been married to Anna Maria Hillenger since 2003. The couple have three children: a son, Otis, and two daughters, Abba and Jojo.
