The beginning of the path to the heights
Shamshi's biography began in 1930. The child was born on August 15 in the village of Temirlanovka in the family of a blacksmith. My father played the domra beautifully, composed music and poetry himself. The boy's mother also sang very well. Their son also played mandolin since childhood. Because of the noticeable birthmark on the baby's leg, they nicknamed "kaldy ayak", "birthmark". This nickname then became a famous surname. The name Jamshid given at birth was affectionately altered at home in Shamshi. The future composer became famous under him.
Kaldayakov wrote his first songs in his youth. The teenager was assigned to a factory school. From there he fled. The parents did not want their son to be forced to return to school. Therefore, the boys were sent to the veterinarian technical school under the new name Shamshi Kaldayakov.
After receiving his education, the young man worked as a livestock technician. After the army, he entered a music school in Tashkent, but could not finish it. Returning to Alma-Ata, the guy in 1956 became a student at the conservatory. The composition class has been selected.
The first patriotic song "Menin Kazakhstanym" was created by the composer at 26. On the radio it sounded very often, receiving the unofficial name "March of virgin lands". In the republic, the work became super popular, turned into a national anthem. In Mongolia and China, Kazakhs performed Shamshi's composition after the anthem of the country where they were currently living. For the first time as the official anthem of the state, the work sounded at the beginning of 2006 during the inauguration of the President of the Republic, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

Kaldayakov created many lyrical songs. Among them are "In a Boat" and "Black Eyes". In total, he wrote 55 works. Each has its own history. So, the composition "Kyz sagynyshy" is dedicated to Maira Aimanova, "Tamdy aruy" is addressed to the Uzbek Kazakhs. A lot of melodies were born during the composer's travels around the country. These are “Ak erke - Ak zhaiyk”, “Syr sluy”, “Arys zhagasynda”, “Arailym ak Keles”.

On the contrary, she informed all fans that she already had a boyfriend. He serves in the Far East. However, the meeting with Shamshi became fateful for both. The girl was very impressed that she attracted the attention of a conservatory student who writes music for her.
Family and vocation
Young people became husband and wife. The family has two children. The eldest son Abylkasym chose a career as a pianist, Mukhtar became a violinist. Mukhtar became the conductor of the Abai State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. His wife is in business, and two of their three children attend a music school.
Parents do not plan to force their children to choose a musical career. And from their childhood, the composer's sons remember that their father never forced them to study. Mom has always been the initiator. She knew how to interestingly tell how long it took the head of the family to confess.
And the children and grandchildren know very well that the future composer studied at a technical school and served in the army. If he wanted to enter the Moscow Conservatory, the guy realized that without preparation he could not become a student. He started taking musical notation lessons, then began his studies in Tashkent. After that, he was able to enter the Alma-Ata Conservatory.
