Among the many professional awards received for talented films and directorial projects, the prize from the Guild of Actors of Russia, which he was awarded for his autobiographical film "Infection", is of particular value. In it, he reflected real events that happened to his own mother.
The unique "etymology" of the name of the talented actor, director and director - Rodion Nakhapetov - is associated with his birth, passport regime in the USSR and the mentality of Soviet film editors. The mother gave birth to her son very hard and in his original name "Rodina" she tried to embody all her love. The passport officer, when issuing an identity document, made her contribution in the form of "Rodin", believing that its original version was erroneous. And only when the name of the actor in his debut film was indicated in the credits, the editors completed the story of this "long-suffering" name, inserting the letter "o" as well.
Biography and career of Rodion Rafailovich Nakhapetov
On January 21, 1944, the future popular artist was born in the Ukrainian city of Pyatikhatka. The birth was very difficult, as it was associated with wartime and the underground activities of Galina Prokopenko's mother. Captivity, concentration camp, escape and childbirth under the bombing in the ruins of one of the houses greeted the newborn in all its "charm". His father (Armenian by nationality) Rafail Tatevosovich Nakhapetov after the war returned to his home, where his wife and children were waiting for him.
During his school years, Rodion attended the drama club. And after receiving a certificate of secondary education, he enters on the first attempt at VGIK, which he graduated in 1965. His debut role in cinema was the character of Gena in Vasily Shukshin's film "There is such a guy" (1964), when he was still a student. In the same year, he was noted for his film work in "First Snow". And a year later, in the film "I am twenty years old" directed by Marlen Khutsiev, filmed about the youth of the "sixties", he is already becoming heard in the cinematographic circles of our country.
Director Mark Donskoy even invites him to play the role of Vladimir Lenin in the dilogy "Mother's Heart" and "Mother's Loyalty". The last picture Nakhapetov played already in adulthood. The actor became truly famous after the release of the films "Tenderness" and "Lovers", shot by Elyor Ishmukhamedov about the heroes of his time: a laconic intellectual and, accordingly, a firefighter, whose biography was copied from the actor himself.
Currently, his acting filmography includes many works, among which I especially want to highlight the following: "The password is not needed", "Slave of love", "Torpedo bombers", "Lovers-2", "Director".
In 1972, Rodion Nakhapetov received a director's diploma, having completed Talankin's course at VGIK. And since 1978 he has been an actor and director of Mosfilm. Currently, his directorial activity is also marked by a very serious filmography, which includes, among other things, the films: "With you and without you", "To the end of the world …", "Enemies", "Do not shoot white swans", " At the end of the night”,“Telepath”,“Mission Possible”,“Russians in the City of Angels”,“Border Blues”,“My Big Armenian Wedding”.
A separate stage in his creative life (1991-2003) is the work of Rodion Rafailovich in the USA, where he founded the film company RGI Productions, which collaborated with ORT.

The first marriage of Rodion Nakhapetov with the famous actress Vera Glagoleva is dated 1978-1988. In this family union, daughters Anna and Maria were born.
During the development of a creative career in America, there was a break with his first wife. And Natasha Shlyapnikoff, who later became his manager, became his new wife. They are currently happy and live together in Moscow.
