They say that Matt is one of those actors who do not sprinkle ashes on their heads because their youth is gone, but meet their age with dignity.
Matt LeBlanc's real name is Matthew Stephen, he was born in 1967 in Newton, near Boston. His mom was an office manager and his dad was a mechanic. Italian, French and Canadian blood flows in his blood.
From his father, he adopted a love for mechanisms, and from childhood dreamed of becoming a motorcycle racer. From the age of eight, he participated in competitions on a personal motorcycle, showing success. And then he got carried away with wood: he worked it and made all kinds of products, so successfully that he received the Golden Hammer award for his work.
His love for acting was already manifested in him then: he played in school plays. However, he entered the Wentworth Institute of Technology, although he stayed there for only one semester. In search of independence, Matt went to New York.
Artist career
At the age of 18, LeBlanc had already starred in commercials for Coca-Cola, Heinz, Levi Strauss & Co. He was eagerly invited by ad directors, and soon provided himself with everything he needed, including a great home. Advertising not only paid well, but was also appreciated as an art: in 1987, Matt received the Golden Lion for his work at the Cannes Advertising Festival.
At 20, he went to Hollywood to study acting, and in 1990 he played the role of Chuck Bender on TV 101. There were also filming in clips of musical groups and singers, work in sitcoms and even an erotic series.
Since 1994, the actor begins a new, much more successful period: he was invited to the TV series "Friends". Interestingly, initially his character was secondary: a kind-hearted neighbor who is trying to make friends with girls. However, the audience liked him so much that the plot was adjusted for him, and he became a full-fledged hero of "Friends".
He himself admits that such fame was unexpected for him: people recognized him, knew so much about him that it was scary - but what else can they find out? However, compensation for this madness, as Matt himself said, was a very decent fee: a million dollars per episode.
And by the way, when the project ended, Matt was the only one for whom a sequel was created - it was a separate sitcom that ran for about two years and was a success.
Then there was the crime melodrama "Italian Mafia", the military tape "Saboteurs", the comedy "Ed", the fantastic film "Lost in Space", the adventure film "Charlie's Angels".
Matt has received awards for his work: "Golden Globe" for his role in the TV series "Episodes", three "Emmy" awards, as well as the television award "People's Choice."
In addition, he works as a producer for his own firm, Fort Hill Productions, which he created with director James Goldstown.
Personal life
Matt LeBlanc's first marriage happened after a long relationship with model Melissa McKnein - they got married in 2003. His wife already had two children from her first marriage, and then a daughter, Marina Pearl, was born, who was diagnosed with a mental disorder by doctors. For a long time, the actor struggled with his daughter's illness until she recovered.
Two years after the wedding, Matt's wife convicted of treason, he publicly apologized, but a year later the family broke up.
Then his partner in the filming of the series "Joey" Andrea Anders entered his life. They lived in a civil marriage for 8 years, and broke up in 2015.
When Matt is asked about his career and personal life, he says that he has nothing to regret, that everything suits him and he would not want to change anything - an enviable quality for a creative person.
